 NUT Protest : Wike Warns Against Politicising Insecurity The Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, has warned against politicising insecurity amid protests by the Nigeria Union of Teachers, FCT wing, over the killing and abduction of school staff and children in Oyo State. Teachers stormed the FCTA Secretariat in Abuja to condemn the killing of Michael Oyedokun and to demand the release of abducted pupils and teachers from Community High School, Ahoro-Esinle in Oriire Local Government Area. The FCT minister addressed the protesters on Tuesday, saying the federal government is on its toes working to secure the rescue of the schoolchildren and their teachers. Wike urged protesters to avoid turning the tragedy into a political issue and to give security efforts time to produce results. ANAMBRA STATE BEGINS REGISTRATION OF HERDSMEN.{PHOTO}.

   The Anambra State Government has commenced the registration of Fulani herdsmen, aimed at checking the farmers-herdsmen conflict in the state.
Speaking to newsmen on the commencement of the registration, Chairman of Anambra State Cattle Menace Control Committee, Igwe Peter Eze-Amama said the registration point was at Amansea in Awka North council area.
Eze-Amama said the enumeration process will help in an easy identification whenever there is a crisis.
He said,
“The enumeration will assist the cattle menace control committee to fish out the bad eggs from the Fulani herdsmen in Anambra state.”
Alhaji Gidado Siddiki, South-East chairman of Miyetti Allah hailed the initiative and also urged herdsmen to respect their host communities as erring individuals will be punished accordingly.
