 TROOPS ARREST SUSPECTED KIDNAPPER, RECOVER AK-47 RIFLE ALONG BENIN–SAPELE ROAD Troops of 4 Brigade Nigerian Army, Operation WABAIZIGAN, have arrested a suspected kidnapper and recovered an AK-47 rifle and ammunition during a targeted operation along the Benin–Sapele Road in Ikpoba-Okha LGA of Edo State. The suspect, identified as Olamide Oyeniyi, was arrested on 12 September 2026 at Obaretin Community by troops conducting operations to disrupt criminal activities and safeguard major transportation routes within the area. Items recovered from the suspect include one AK-47 rifle, one magazine and eight rounds of 7.62mm Special ammunition. Other items recovered are one Tecno mobile phone, two bags, one torchlight, one music box and assorted charms. A MORTUARY GOT BURNT TODAY AT ENUGWU-UKWU GENERAL HOSPITAL,ANAMBRA STATE.{PHOTOS}.

     Fire incident that razed the mortuary section of Enugwu -Ukwu General Hospital in Njikoka local Government Area of Anambra State has burnt the dead bodies inside the mortuary beyond recognition.
It was gathered that the incident which took place Saturday started at about 5.41pm.
According to reports from the police, its Patrol team led by DPO Nimo Division CSP EGU Benjamin on hearing the news had rushed to the scene and cordoned off the Area to prevent looters from taking advantage of the situation to loot.
It was gathered that the Police had contacted the fire Service department who arrived at the scene and put off the fire with the help of local volunteers.
It would be recalled that the fire has caused extensive damage in the building as almost all the corpses at the mortuary was burnt beyond recognition.As at the time of filling this report, the cause of the fire incident is yet unknown.
