OVER 25 MILLION PHONES STOLEN IN ONE YEAR- FG. (PHOTO).

 Over 25 million phones stolen in one year – FG The Crime Experience and Security Perception Survey report of the National Bureau of Statistics, a Federal Government agency, shows that Nigeria recorded 25.35 million phone theft cases between May 2023 and April 2024. According to the report, this was the most common type of crime within the period under review. The report read, “The number of crimes experienced by individuals in Nigeria was analysed over a period of time. The results show that theft of phones (25,354,417) was the most common crime experienced by individuals, followed by consumer fraud (12,107,210) and assault (8,453,258). However, hijacking of cars (333,349) was the least crime experienced by individuals within the reference period.” It also noted that most phone theft cases occurred either at home or in a public place, and about 90 per cent of such cases were reported to the police. FRSC RESCUED TWO CRASHES YESTERDAY ALONG SAGAMU-IJEBU ODE-BENIN EXPRESSWAY.[PHOTOS}.#PRESS RELEASE.


     REPORT OF FATAL ROAD TRAFFIC CRASH ALONG THE  SAGAMU - IJEBU ODE - BENIN EXPRESSWAY 
ON SATURDAY  26  OCTOBER 2019

The FRSC Ogun State Command rescued two  crashes  that occured in the early hours  of Saturday 26  October 2019.
The first crash occured in the early hours of the morning when the weather was still dark  at about 0540hrs The second crash occured at about  0820hrs  of the same day on the same corridor at Ijebu Ife, Ogun State.

The two road traffic crashes were recorded on the Sagamu  -Ijebu Ode - Ore Express way and  involved 26 persons .
The first crash  occurred  along  the
Sagamu - Ijebu Ode Expressway around Ijebu - Ife 
 Ogun State.

The people involved in the crash were 07 comprising 06 male adults and 01 female adult.

The people injured in the crash were 02, made up of  01 male adult and 01 female adult.
Unfortunately two persons, both  male adults died from the injuries sustained in the crash.

The crash involved two vehicles,  Toyota picnic car with registration number KTP812RG  GREY
The second vehicle is a RED DAF TRUCK,   with registration number JEG551XA

The crash was suspected to have been caused by Armed Robbery attacks when the driver of the  Toyota Picnic suddenly reversed on the highway when he sighted the armed robbers and in the process of escaping the oncoming truck, unsuspectedly  rammed  into the Toyota Picnic vehicle.
The truck in the process fell into the dicth. 

The injured victims were rescued to General Hospital Ijebu-Ode , Ogun State.

The corpses of the dead victims were  deposited at the General Hospital Ijebu-Ode, Morgue.

The second crash occurred at about 0820hrs on the Ijebu-Ode - Sagamu Expressway, also at Ijebu Ife .
Nineteen people were involved in the crash (03 male adults and 16 female adults) 10 people were injured while 07 died in the crash , comprising 01male adult and 06female adults.
02 vehicles were involved in the crash , a white Mack tanker with registration number AGL667XX and a TOYOTA HIACE, commutter bus coming from Okitipupa, Ondo state, with registration number KJA534XL 
It was a head on collision as a result of speed and lost of control.
The commutter bus due to excessive speed could not manourveur the diversion point and in the process collided head on with the truck.  
The injured victims were rescued to the  General Hospital Ijebu-Ode for medical treatment and the corpses of the dead victims  deposited at same hospital.

The FRSC Ogun State Sector Commander, Clement Oladele  commisorated with the families of the victims and urged them to visit the  medical institutions or the FRSC Command at Ijebu - Ode  Ogun State, for details of the two  crashes

The Sector Commander admonishes motorists to drive cautiously and within approved speed limits and resists dangereous overtaking to avoid road traffic crashes
