  Oshiomhole Convinced Us To Make Obaseki Governor – Philip Shaibu Philip Shaibu, the former Deputy Governor of Edo State, has disclosed that his choice to support his former boss, Godwin Obaseki, stemmed from his respect for Adams Oshiomhole, the former National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC). According to Naija News, Shaibu shared his doubts about Obaseki during an interview on Channels Television’s Political Paradigm program on Tuesday. Shaibu admitted that he lacked confidence in Obaseki's leadership even before they took office on November 12, 2016. He explained that despite his initial hesitations, he ultimately backed Obaseki out of respect and based on the assurances provided by Oshiomhole. He stated, “Obaseki is not a politician. LAGOS TO PROSECUTE FOUR POLICE OFFICERS INDICTED IN EXTRA-JUDICIAL KILLING.#PRESS RELEASE.

     The Lagos State Attorney-General and Commissioner for Justice, Mr. Moyosore Onigbanjo (SAN) has directed the immediate prosecution of four police officers for the alleged extra-judicial killing of late Segun Sholaja and Ogheneovo Ebobo.
According to a statement issued by the Ministry, the Commissioner gave the directive sequel to the petition received from the families of late Segun Sholaja and Ogheneovo Ebobo as well as the review and thorough investigation and review alleged extrajudicial killing of the deceased persons by the four police officers, namely Inspector Fabiyi Omomayara, Sergent Olaniyi Solomon, Sergent Solomon Sunday and Constable Aliyu Mukaila of the Nigeria Police Force.
It noted that in the course of the investigation initiated by the Office of the Attorney-General fresh evidence came to light indicting the concerned Police Officers.
"This necessitated a review of the earlier legal opinion issued and the subsequent directive by Mr. Moyosore Onigbanjo (SAN) that the suspects be charged for the killing of the deceased persons" the statement added.
While commiserating with the bereaved families and all those affected by the unfortunate incident, the Attorney- General assured the general public of the present administration's resolve to uphold the Rule of Law in the State, no matter whose ox is gored.

 Actor Baba Ijesha appeals five-year jail sentence for sexual assault Nollywood actor Olanrewaju James, known as Baba Ijesha, has filed an appeal against his conviction for the sexual assault of a minor. He has requested the Court of Appeal, Lagos Division, to overturn the ruling of the Lagos State High Court, which sentenced him to five years in prison. The conviction was handed down by Justice Oluwatoyin Taiwo (retd.) of the Ikeja Domestic Violence and Sexual Offences Court on July 14, 2022 to Baba Ijesha. Baba Ijesha through his counsel Kayode Olabiran on Tuesday, told the appeal court that his client was set up and that he acted according to a script that he was invited to act on by his colleague. “The Appellant was set up.
