 Carrick favourite for Man Utd caretaker role Michael Carrick has emerged as favourite to be appointed Manchester United caretaker head coach, according to sources close to the process. Club chiefs are hoping to have an appointment in place for when players return to training on Wednesday. While a final decision is yet to be reached, talks are said to have progressed with the 44-year-old over the position. Carrick previously had a three-game stint as United's temporary boss following Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's dismissal in 2021. He won two and drew one of those matches but left after Ralf Rangnick's arrival as interim manager. Solskjaer held face-to-face discussions with the club on Saturday about a return. United sacked Ruben Amorim as manager after 14 months in the job on 5 January. NIGERIAN PHONE REPAIRER STABBED TO DEATH IN SOUTH AFRICA OVER A BUSINESS DISAGREEMENT YESTERDAY.{PHOTO}.

    The Nigerian community in South Africa has confirmed the killing of one of its members, 41-year-old, Ikenna Innocent Otugo, in Empangeni, South Africa on Tuesday October 15th.
Acting chairman of Nigerian Union, South Africa (NUSA) in the Kwazulu Natal Province, Sylvester Okonkwo, who confirmed this to the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN), said the deceased, a native of Nimo in Njikoka Local Government Area of Anambra, was allegedly stabbed to death by unknown assailants over a business disagreement.
According to Okonkwo, Otugo who is a phone repairer, had repaired a cellphone for a client in the area. However the female client wasn't satisfied with the job he did for her and they had an argument. Things degenerated when she organized some men to attack Otugo who was stabbed in the process. He died while he was being rushed to the hospital.
Okonkwo says the body of the deceased has been deposited in the morgue and an autopsy is expected to be carried out on him.
Otugo is survived by a Nine year old son.

 Tinubu announces arrival of 4 US attack helicopters President Bola Tinubu has stated that four attack helicopters will soon arrive in the country from the United States amid rising insecurity. Speaking at a meeting with a delegation of the Christian Association of Nigeria, led by its President, Archbishop Daniel Okoh, at his Lagos residence, on Friday, Dec. 26, Tinubu revealed that the Federal Government had ordered four attack helicopters from the U.S, adding that they will arrive in the country “soon”.
