  The Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) has dismissed a viral claim circulating on social media about the introduction of new ₦5,000 and ₦10,000 banknotes, labeling it as fake news. The claim, which included fabricated images of the supposed new denominations featuring Dr. Nnamdi Azikiwe and Chief Obafemi Awolowo, falsely stated that the new notes would enter circulation from May 1, 2025. In a statement on its verified Facebook account, the CBN clarified that the content is not from the bank and directed the public to its official website, (www.cbn.gov.ng), for authentic information. The bank warned against spreading misinformation regarding monetary policies and urged Nigerians to rely only on official statements from its verified channels. The CBN reaffirmed that any major policy decision, including the introduction of new banknotes, would be announced through its official platforms. POLICE PARADED 71 CRIMINALS INCLUDING 41 CULTIST IN ANAMBRA STATE.{PHOTOS}.#PRESS RELEASE.

     ANOTHER BREAKTHROUGH RECORDED BY THE JOINT SECURITY AGENCIES IN ANAMBRA STATE FOLLOWING RAIDS ON BLACKSPOTS AND CRIMINAL HIDEOUTS.
Barely three weeks after the launch of operation Kpochakpu II by his Excellency the Executive Governor of Anambra State Chief Willie Obiano, the Anambra State Police Command in conjunction with other Sister Security Agencies have arrested 71 suspected criminals at various locations in the State in order to deny them the opportunity to perpetrate crimes especially during this ember period.
2. Out of the seventý one suspects arrested, 41 are suspected cultists, 5 are suspected fraudsters including two with military camouflage uniforms and one Youth corper serving in Delta State.The syndicate were arrested by the Command Special Anti cult unit in conjunction with UNIZIK Campus Anti cult following intelligence report.
3. Suspects allegedly abducted one Oledimma Macdowal and defrauded him of #1.2 Million Naira.
4. Consequently, among the remaining twenty five suspects, three are child stealing syndicate while twenty two others were arrested at various blackspots and criminal hideouts in the State.
5. The operation is still ongoing until all the criminals in the State relocate or refrain from criminal activities.
6. All cases are under investigation after which suspects would be charged to court for prosecution.
7. Finally, the Commissioner of Police CP John B.Abang,fdc appreciate the continuous supports by Ndi Anambra towards providing useful information to the Police.The CP further assured the Public that the Command will not relent in it's efforts towards providing safety and security in the State.

 Actor Baba Ijesha appeals five-year jail sentence for sexual assault Nollywood actor Olanrewaju James, known as Baba Ijesha, has filed an appeal against his conviction for the sexual assault of a minor. He has requested the Court of Appeal, Lagos Division, to overturn the ruling of the Lagos State High Court, which sentenced him to five years in prison. The conviction was handed down by Justice Oluwatoyin Taiwo (retd.) of the Ikeja Domestic Violence and Sexual Offences Court on July 14, 2022 to Baba Ijesha. Baba Ijesha through his counsel Kayode Olabiran on Tuesday, told the appeal court that his client was set up and that he acted according to a script that he was invited to act on by his colleague. “The Appellant was set up.
