 GOVERNOR ABBA  YUSUF SACKS  KANO STATE HEAD OF SERVICE   The Executive Governor of Kano State, Abba Kabir Yusuf, has relieved the State Head of Service, Abdullahi Musa, of his appointment with immediate effect. In a statement  by the Director General, Media and Publicity to the Governor, Sunusi Bature Dawakin Tofa, the decision is part of the ongoing efforts by the present administration to reposition the state civil service for greater efficiency, discipline, and improved service delivery across all government institutions. Governor Yusuf expressed appreciation to the outgoing Head of Service for his contributions and dedication to the service of the State  The statement further directed that Bilkisu Shehu Maimota, the Permanent Secretary, Admin and General Services at the Cabinet Office, to serve in an  acting capacity pending the appointment of a substantive Head of Service.      President Muhammadu Buhari condoles with the Ajekigbe family, the academia, and the medical profession, on the passage of renowned oncologist, Professor Aderemi Tajudeen Ajekigbe.
The deceased practiced for decades at the Lagos University Teaching Hospital (LUTH), rising to the headship of the Oncology and Radiology department.
Even at retirement, Prof Ajekigbe still lent his God-given intellect to research and advocacy of early detection of cancer, so that the scourge can be reduced in the country.
The President salutes the commitment to scholarship of the departed, which saw him first qualifying as an engineer, later as a pharmacist, and eventually as a medical doctor.
President Buhari prays that God will comfort those who mourn the departed cancer specialist, urging that his good works and research findings be documented for the good of humanity.
