 Ekiti Man Sentenced to 84 Years for Rape, Robbery, Attempted Murder An Ekiti State High Court sitting in Ado Ekiti has sentenced 33-year-old Oluwatuyi Bidemi to 84 years in prison for attempted murder, robbery, kidnapping, and rape. Justice Adeniyi Familoni delivered the verdict on Friday, convicting Bidemi on all four charges after finding the prosecution had proved its case beyond reasonable doubt. The offences were committed on July 7, 2021, in Omuo Ekiti, where Bidemi attacked civil servant Abiodun Agnes on her way to work, dragged her into a bush, robbed and raped her, and left her unconscious. Testifying, the victim said she was held by the neck, tied up, and had a handkerchief stuffed in her mouth. She lost consciousness and later discovered she had been raped, with parts of her body shaved. Bidemi was later identified and arrested by the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC).      Today in Kaduna, Governor Kayode Fayemi shared his knowledge on ‘Building a Successor-Generation: Reflections on Vision and Values’ with Kashim Ibrahim Fellows during the Fellowship’s Speaker Series. Governor Fayemi was received by Governor Nasir Elrufai of Kaduna State.
The Kashim Ibrahim Fellows Programme is an initiative of the Kaduna State Government to develop and nurture the potentials of young Nigerians who are expected to assume leadership positions in the public sector and other areas of activity over the next decade.More photos below.

 Actor Baba Ijesha appeals five-year jail sentence for sexual assault Nollywood actor Olanrewaju James, known as Baba Ijesha, has filed an appeal against his conviction for the sexual assault of a minor. He has requested the Court of Appeal, Lagos Division, to overturn the ruling of the Lagos State High Court, which sentenced him to five years in prison. The conviction was handed down by Justice Oluwatoyin Taiwo (retd.) of the Ikeja Domestic Violence and Sexual Offences Court on July 14, 2022 to Baba Ijesha. Baba Ijesha through his counsel Kayode Olabiran on Tuesday, told the appeal court that his client was set up and that he acted according to a script that he was invited to act on by his colleague. “The Appellant was set up.
