 Osun Lawmaker Oluwole Oke Resigns from PDP Chairman of the House of Representatives Committee on Public Accounts, Oluwole Oke, has officially resigned from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP). Oke, who represents the Obokun/Oriade Federal Constituency in Osun State and is serving his sixth term in the National Assembly, announced his resignation in a letter addressed to the PDP Chairman of Ward 7, Obokun Local Government Area. ā€œI wish to formally notify you that I am resigning my membership of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, with immediate effect,ā€ the letter read. The lawmaker stated that his decision followed extensive consultations with political allies, family, and friends, and urged the party to accept his resignation in good faith. Copies of the resignation letter were also sent to the PDP National Chairman, the Osun State Chairman, and the Local Government Chairman.

 Actor Baba Ijesha appeals five-year jail sentence for sexual assault Nollywood actor Olanrewaju James, known as Baba Ijesha, has filed an appeal against his conviction for the sexual assault of a minor. He has requested the Court of Appeal, Lagos Division, to overturn the ruling of the Lagos State High Court, which sentenced him to five years in prison. The conviction was handed down by Justice Oluwatoyin Taiwo (retd.) of the Ikeja Domestic Violence and Sexual Offences Court on July 14, 2022 to Baba Ijesha. Baba Ijesha through his counsel Kayode Olabiran on Tuesday, told the appeal court that his client was set up and that he acted according to a script that he was invited to act on by his colleague. ā€œThe Appellant was set up.
