 Aguiyi Orders Investigation into Trans Nkisi Mining Site Over Environmental Compliance By Amaka Isikala The Anambra State Commissioner for Environment, Dr. Clem Aguiyi, has ordered an investigation into the environmental compliance status of a mining site at Trans Nkisi, Onitsha, following concerns over extensive land degradation and its possible contribution to the growing gully erosion threatening the community. The directive followed an inspection visit to the site on August 1, during which the commissioner was accompanied by leaders of the Trans Nkisi community. The visit formed part of the ministry's ongoing assessment of environmentally sensitive locations across the state in line with Governor Chukwuma Soludo's Fifth Pillar of Development, Environment and Urban Regeneration. ORTOM TASKS POLICE TO FIND KILLERS OF HARVEST FM STAFF.[PHOTO}.#PRESS RELEASE.

     Governor Samuel Ortom charges the Benue State Police Command and other security agencies to ensure that killers of Mr Patrick Kumbul, the Head of ICT Unit at Harvest FM Makurdi are arrested and brought to justice.
The Governor describes as unacceptable, the murder of Mr Kumbul yesterday by yet-to-be-identified gunmen in front of his house on Daniel Amokachi Lane, Makurdi.
He urges residents of the Benue State capital and neighbouring towns to volunteer information that would lead to the arrest of the killers.
The Governor sympathizes with the entire Kumbul family, Federal Radio Corporation of Nigeria and Harvest FM staff in particular over the painful loss.
He prays God to grant the deceased eternal rest.
