 TROOPS ARREST SUSPECTED KIDNAPPER, RECOVER AK-47 RIFLE ALONG BENIN–SAPELE ROAD Troops of 4 Brigade Nigerian Army, Operation WABAIZIGAN, have arrested a suspected kidnapper and recovered an AK-47 rifle and ammunition during a targeted operation along the Benin–Sapele Road in Ikpoba-Okha LGA of Edo State. The suspect, identified as Olamide Oyeniyi, was arrested on 12 September 2026 at Obaretin Community by troops conducting operations to disrupt criminal activities and safeguard major transportation routes within the area. Items recovered from the suspect include one AK-47 rifle, one magazine and eight rounds of 7.62mm Special ammunition. Other items recovered are one Tecno mobile phone, two bags, one torchlight, one music box and assorted charms.     President Muhammadu Buhari sends warm greetings to Lady Maiden Alex Ibru, Chairman, Publisher and Chief Executive Officer of Guardian Newspapers, as she turns 70, congratulating her for a life of giving and coaching, which has attracted recognitions and awards at home and abroad.
President Buhari joins the Ibru family, friends and associates of the Chairman of Guardian newspapers to rejoice on the milestone, while extolling her for providing strong leadership for the newspaper and other companies, and still creating time for the Trinity Foundation, founded by her late husband, Dr Alex Ibru.
As Lady Ibru turns 70, the President believes her outstanding contributions to the lives of many, especially the girl-child and underprivileged families, deserves spotlighting and commendation, affirming that by investing in education of others and encouraging many to return to school, she has touched generations.
The President prays that the Almighty God will grant Lady Ibru more years of good health, strength and wisdom.
