 Legendary actor Manoj Kumar dies at 87: ‘Roti Kapada Aur Makaan’ director breathes his last in Mumbai Manoj Kumar, the Bollywood actor and filmmaker, renowned for his patriotic films, passed away at the age of 87 at Mumbai's Kokilaben Dhirubhai Ambani Hospital. The cause of his death was identified as cardiogenic shock due to acute myocardial infarction, according to medical reports. The medical reports confirmed that apart from a severe heart attack that took away his life, Manoj had been battling decompensated liver cirrhosis for the past few months, ANI reported. Following deteriorating health condition, he was admitted to the hospital on February 21, 2025. Popularly known as ‘Bharat Kumar,’ Manoj Kumar was an exceptional director and actor who was honoured with National Film Award. THE RIVERS STATE GOVERNMENT FROWNS AT SEA PIRACY.{PHOTOS}.#PRESS RELEASE.

     The Rivers State Government has expressed concern about sea piracy in the various Marine Corridors of the State.
Dr. Banigo stated this while playing host to members of the Bonny Women Patriotic Movement at the Government House in Port Harcourt, on Thursday, 5th December 2019.
According to Dr. Banigo, the Security Council under the watch of Governor Wike is leaving no stone unturned to put an end to this ugly situation.
She frowned at the situation where women have been attacked, abused and have lost their properties to these criminals, noting that it is not acceptable and should not be happening to us.
“This is what informed the Governor's decision to Launch Operation Sting to stamp out all forms of criminality in the State”. Dr. Banigo stressed.
The Deputy Governor who said the family is the bedrock of our society disclosed that if we do not get it right in our families we cannot get it right in the society.
“you have been making sure that your sons and daughters are brought up in the fear of God, this is a great support for this Government, apart from your voter’s cards that you used in voting for us, when we don’t have our children growing up in the fear of God, we will have children ending up as militants, drug pushers, armed robbers, and cultists.
This is what is tearing apart the destiny of our young ones in this state, cultism and the use and abuse of illicit drugs is turning them to become something they are not supposed to be”. The Deputy Governor further stressed.
Dr. Banigo who advised youths and young adults not to be frustrated if they come out of school without securing their dream jobs immediately, charged them to utilize their creative skills to produce things, be multitasking, get involved in charity work and volunteerism.
In her address the President of the Bonny Women Patriotic Movement Port Harcourt, Mrs. Mercy Allison-Jibueze said they were at the Government House to thank the Almighty God and also congratulate Governor Wike and his Deputy Dr. Banigo on their re-election for a second term in office which according to her is well deserved because of the developmental strides of the Wike led Government.

 Actor Baba Ijesha appeals five-year jail sentence for sexual assault Nollywood actor Olanrewaju James, known as Baba Ijesha, has filed an appeal against his conviction for the sexual assault of a minor. He has requested the Court of Appeal, Lagos Division, to overturn the ruling of the Lagos State High Court, which sentenced him to five years in prison. The conviction was handed down by Justice Oluwatoyin Taiwo (retd.) of the Ikeja Domestic Violence and Sexual Offences Court on July 14, 2022 to Baba Ijesha. Baba Ijesha through his counsel Kayode Olabiran on Tuesday, told the appeal court that his client was set up and that he acted according to a script that he was invited to act on by his colleague. “The Appellant was set up.
