 Nicole Kidman recalls the heartbreaking moment she found out her mom died Nicole Kidman has opened up about the heartbreaking moment she learned of her mother Janelle’s death just as she was about to accept a best actress award at the Venice International Film Festival.  The Babygirl star recalled being backstage when she received the news, saying she returned to her room “completely devastated” and unsure how she would move forward without her mother, who had been such a central part of her life. She described the “harrowing” attempt to leave Venice in the middle of the night to return to Australia, only to turn back, overwhelmed and alone.  Director Halina Reijn later read a statement on Kidman’s behalf, dedicating the award to Janelle and acknowledging the collision of art and life in that painful moment. GOV. ABIODUN ISS SET TO INAUGURATE ELDERS ADVISORY COUNCIL ON THURSDAY.{PHOTOS}.#PRESS RELEASE.

    The Ogun State Governor will on Thursday inaugurate an Elders’ Advisory Council at the Obas Complex inside the State Secretariat in Abeokuta by 2pm.
The Governor said the composition of the Council was part of the Government’s desire to tap from the fountain of wisdom of the elderly in our society and to give the state the benefit of the knowledge garnered over the years by these statesmen and women.
“It is in order to walk the talk about our commitment to inclusive and participatory governance that we are doing this. We stand to benefit from these elders in our midst”, a statement issued by Abidoun spokesman, Kunle Somorin said.
The newly constituted Governors’ Elders Advisory Council (GEAC) comprises of critical stakeholders in the All Progressives Congress (APC) and outside the main political parties in the State.
Members of the Council include statesmen and women who have the requisite governance, business and political experiences necessary to deliver the dividends of democracy to the people, the statement added.
