 LASG ISSUES TRAFFIC ADVISORY AHEAD OF FANTI CARNIVAL The Lagos State Government has announced traffic diversions and restrictions ahead of the Lagos Fanti Carnival scheduled to hold on Monday, 6th April, 2026, around Tafawa Balewa Square (TBS), Lagos Island. In a bid to ensure a seamless and hitch-free carnival procession, vehicular movement will be restricted along major adjoining roads linking TBS. Affected Routes are; King George V Road (by Mobil Filling Station), Flag House inbound TBS, Force Road inbound TBS, Onikan Roundabout inbound TBS, and WaterBoy Roundabout by Old Defence House. Additionally, all link roads to Moloney Road, such as Military Road (by Old Defence Building), Ajasa Street, Boyle Street, and Hawley Street, will be closed to traffic during the event. To ease parking challenges, designated car parks have been arranged for public use, these include; the Yoruba Lawn Tennis Club Car Park, Zone 2 Car Park (opposite Island Club along King George V Road), Museum Kit...

     The Lagos State Government has outlined several activities for the celebration of Year 2020 Armed Forces Remembrance Day beginning with a Special Jumat Service scheduled to hold at the Lagos State Community Central Mosque, Alausa today.
The Commissioner for Home Affairs, Pharm (Mrs.) Uzamat Akinbile-Yussuf who disclosed this in her office ag Alausa Ikeja disclosed that the Armed Forces Remembrance Day is a day set apart by the federal Government of Nigeria to celebrate and eulogize past military personnel who have in one way or the other contributed to the nationhood of the Nigerian State.
She explained that the Lagos State government is fully ready to mark the year 2020 Armed Forces Remembrance Day,
While expressing the preparedness of the State Government for the annual event, Akinbile-Yussuf further revealed that Mr. Governor, Mr. Babajide Olusola Sanwoolu and members of the Executive Council are expected to attend the Thanksgiving Service which will hold on Sunday 12th January, 2020 at the Chapel of Christ The Light, Alausa by 10am.
The Commissioner stated that the climax of the celebration will be the main event which is the Parade and Laying of Wreath at the Remembrance Arcade, Tafawa Balewa Square, Lagos on Wednesday 15th January, 2020.
It would be recalled that the Governor, Mr. Babajide Olusola Sanwo-Olu had earlier performed the Emblem Appeal Launch in November 2019, at Lagos House in Ikeja, signifying the commencement of the year 2020 Armed Forces Remembrance Day Celebration.
