 RE: MISLEADING CLAIMS REGARDING EXTORTION OF MOTORISTS BY LAGOS STATE TASKFORCE – YET-TO-BE-IDENTIFIED SECURITY OPERATIVES: ANOTHER CASE OF MISTAKEN IDENTITY The Lagos State Taskforce wishes to address a misleading narrative circulating on social media, particularly in a viral video shared by protesters and concerned groups who recently demonstrated at the Lagos State House of Assembly. The protest was in response to the alleged extortion of motorists by security operatives, yet to be identified, who are not officials of the Lagos State Environmental and Special Offences Unit. We categorically state that the Lagos State Taskforce had no involvement in the said incident. Our enforcement teams are led by seasoned, well-trained, and highly disciplined senior officers who are far too professional and educated to jeopardise their ranks, integrity, and years of service for personal gain. Today 16/1/2020 the leadership of Ohanaeze Ndigbo worldwide Anambra State chapter led by it's President, Ichie Damian Afam Okeke-Ogene paid a courtesy visit to the Commissioner of Police CP John B.Abang,fdc at the State Command headquarters, Awka.
The organisation also presented a letter of commendation the Commissioner for Police for ensuring a peaceful Christmas and new year celebrations and for bringing crime to the barest minimum in Anambra State since his resumption to office as the 28th Commissioner of Police in the State.
Responding, the Commissioner of Police CP John B.Abang,fdc thanked organisation for the visit and for recognizing the efforts of the Command under his watch towards providing safety and security in Anambra State. The CP further stated that all the achievements recorded by the Command wouldn't have been possible without the support of "Ndi Anambra"who always volunteer useful and timely information on criminal elements and their hideouts to the Police.
The CP equally thanked His Excellency the Executive Governor of Anambra State Chief Willie Obiano for providing logistics supports to the Police as well as encouraging a rubost Synergy among the Sister security Agencies in the State.

 Actor Baba Ijesha appeals five-year jail sentence for sexual assault Nollywood actor Olanrewaju James, known as Baba Ijesha, has filed an appeal against his conviction for the sexual assault of a minor. He has requested the Court of Appeal, Lagos Division, to overturn the ruling of the Lagos State High Court, which sentenced him to five years in prison. The conviction was handed down by Justice Oluwatoyin Taiwo (retd.) of the Ikeja Domestic Violence and Sexual Offences Court on July 14, 2022 to Baba Ijesha. Baba Ijesha through his counsel Kayode Olabiran on Tuesday, told the appeal court that his client was set up and that he acted according to a script that he was invited to act on by his colleague. “The Appellant was set up.
