 HERDSMEN KILL DRIVER ON HUMANITARIAN MISSION IN TARABA STATE  10th January, 2026      A commercial driver, Mr. Amishe Omeny, has been killed by suspected Fulani herdsmen while on a humanitarian visit to a displaced community in Takum Local Government Area of Taraba State. The deceased, from Tse Amise after Tseem, was reportedly attacked on Friday within Chanchanji Ward as he travelled to Adokia, a displaced settlement located after Tseem Sabe. He was said to have gone to the area to assist villagers with the transportation of foodstuffs. Sources in the community told Benue Info-pedia, that Omeny volunteered his services as a driver to support residents affected by ongoing insecurity, when he was ambushed and killed by the assailants. The killing has sparked grief and outrage among residents, who described the incident as tragic and senseless. WHY EFCC REJECTS PETITIONS-MAGU.{PHOTOS}.#PRESS RELEASE.

     The acting Chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, Ibrahim Magu, on Saturday, January 25, 2020, shed light on why some petitions sent to the anti-graft agency are returned.
According to him, every petition received by the commission passes through the Screening Committee who considers the content and determine whether it falls within the scope of its constitutional mandate.
The EFCC chairman made the explanation while featuring on “Talk Radio”, a morning programme of the Ibadan-based Inspiration 100.5 FM.
“Before we commence investigations on any petition, we give them to the Screening Committee for review. The committee will look at the content and advise accordingly on what to do.
“If it is something we should handle, we launch into action. If not, we guide the petitioner on the appropriate place to take it to,” he said.More photos below.

 Tinubu announces arrival of 4 US attack helicopters President Bola Tinubu has stated that four attack helicopters will soon arrive in the country from the United States amid rising insecurity. Speaking at a meeting with a delegation of the Christian Association of Nigeria, led by its President, Archbishop Daniel Okoh, at his Lagos residence, on Friday, Dec. 26, Tinubu revealed that the Federal Government had ordered four attack helicopters from the U.S, adding that they will arrive in the country “soon”. He said: “Our orders for four attack helicopters from the United States of America will take some time to arrive.
