 A Mother's Day Nightmare in Princeton, Illinois. A 3-year-old boy was struck by gunfire as police burst into a barricaded room, ending a frightening hostage situation. Multiple agencies responded to the Hummingbird Mobile Home Park in Princeton, Illinois, on Sunday, May 10th at 2:42 a.m. The initial call went out as a domestic disturbance but officers discovered much worse.  42-year-old, Anthony Rodriguez, had barricaded himself in a room armed with a knife. Anthony had taken several people as hostages, including Aurora Almanza and her 3-year-old son.  Multiple agencies were on the scene, including the Bureau County Sheriff's Office, Illinois State Police and  the Princeton Police Department.  Authorities attempted to negotiate but ultimately rushed the room when they heard screaming coming from inside.  Officials have reported that officers fired shots as they entered the room.      There are strong indications that Atty Bruce Fein, the foremost US attorney and one time Associate Deputy US Attorney General and Constitutional Expert will be arriving the country this weekend to lead the Team of International Community that have indicated interest to attend the Supreme Court Review proceedings of the controversial Imo State Governorship Election Appeal.
Notable representatives of other International Organizations that have confirmed attendance to the Review includes Amnesty International, Centre for Democracy and Development, European Union Delegation to the Federal Republic of Nigeria & ECOWAS and Youth Initiative for Advocacy, Growth and Advancement (YIAGA) among others.
The Supreme Court Judgement on the Imo Governorship tussle has generated so much controversy and contention in the polity that almost on a weekly basis, protest within and outside the country has dominated the political landscape ever since that Supreme Court judgement of Jan 14th 2020.
