  The Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) has dismissed a viral claim circulating on social media about the introduction of new ₦5,000 and ₦10,000 banknotes, labeling it as fake news. The claim, which included fabricated images of the supposed new denominations featuring Dr. Nnamdi Azikiwe and Chief Obafemi Awolowo, falsely stated that the new notes would enter circulation from May 1, 2025. In a statement on its verified Facebook account, the CBN clarified that the content is not from the bank and directed the public to its official website, (www.cbn.gov.ng), for authentic information. The bank warned against spreading misinformation regarding monetary policies and urged Nigerians to rely only on official statements from its verified channels. The CBN reaffirmed that any major policy decision, including the introduction of new banknotes, would be announced through its official platforms. POLICE RESCUED A TEN YEARS OLD GIRL CHILD SUSPECTED TO HAVE BEEN STOLEN FROM AKWA IBOM STATE.{PHOTOS}.#PRESS RELEASE.

        On the 21/2/2020, a girl child of about 10 years old reasonably suspected to have been stolen from Akwa Ibom State since 2018 and sold to a couple in Anambra State at the rate of Eight Hundred Thousand Naira (#800,000) was rescued by Police detectives attached to 33 division, Onitsha following intelligence report.
2. Preliminary investigation revealed that,the child's original name was Favour Asuqwo before her "new parents" the suspects who are now in police custody gave her a new name as Faith Ezeukwu after they allegedgly bought her from her captors presently at large.
3.Inview of the foregoing,you are kindly requested to dessiminate this massage through your medium to enable biolohical parents or close relatives of the victim identify her.
4. Anyone with useful information about the rescued child should report at the 33 Police Station Onitsha or contact PPRO Anambra State Police Command headquarters Awka through GSM no 08060970639, please.

 Actor Baba Ijesha appeals five-year jail sentence for sexual assault Nollywood actor Olanrewaju James, known as Baba Ijesha, has filed an appeal against his conviction for the sexual assault of a minor. He has requested the Court of Appeal, Lagos Division, to overturn the ruling of the Lagos State High Court, which sentenced him to five years in prison. The conviction was handed down by Justice Oluwatoyin Taiwo (retd.) of the Ikeja Domestic Violence and Sexual Offences Court on July 14, 2022 to Baba Ijesha. Baba Ijesha through his counsel Kayode Olabiran on Tuesday, told the appeal court that his client was set up and that he acted according to a script that he was invited to act on by his colleague. “The Appellant was set up.
