 Rwanda warns it may withdraw troops from Mozambique's insurgency-hit Cabo Delgado Rwanda ​has warned that it was ready to withdraw its troops from Mozambique's Cabo Delgado province, ‌where they are helping to counter deadly insurgent attacks, if sufficient international funding for the mission is not assured. The deployment in the gas-rich region in 2021, at Mozambique's request, has helped to stabilise areas previously overrun by an Islamic-linked insurgency, Rwandan government spokesperson Yolande ​Makolo said in a post on X, Reuters reported. Bloomberg reported on Thursday that the European Union's support for the effort is due to expire in May with no plans for renewal. Makolo, referencing the Bloomberg report, said the sustainability of ​the deployment hinges on "adequate, predictable funding".     Members of the NYSC Batch "A" have expressed appreciation to the Ogun State Governor, Prince Dapo Abiodun for his role in providing a conducive environment for their year-long service.
The corps members, who visited the Governor in his office at Oke-Mosan, Abeokuta after their Passing Out Parade (POP) yesterday, were in company with the State Coordinator of the National Youth Service Corps, Dr Belinda Faniyi and other top officials of the Corps in the State.
The corps members thanked Governor Abiodun for the genuine love he showed both the Corps and its members during their one-year service, particularly as he saw to improving the living conditions of the NYSC Camp in the State.
Earlier, the State had officially commended the two corps members for their selfless contributions to community development.More photos below.
