 Alleged coup: Release our daddies, detained officers’ children protest at N’Assembly Scores of children and wives of military officers detained over an alleged coup plot on Wednesday staged a peaceful protest at the National Assembly, demanding a speedy trial and the release of the accused officials. The protesters gathered at the entrance of the National Assembly complex, moving in a slow procession while clutching placards with inscriptions such as “Don’t Kill Our Daddies,” “Detention Without Trial is Injustice,” and “Six Months of Torture: Enough Is Enough.”.     President Muhammadu Buhari condoles with Governor Yahaya Bello of Kogi State over the passing of his mum, Hajiya Hauwau Oziohu Bello, 101, praying that God almighty will comfort her family and loved ones.
The President urges the governor, family members and all associates of Hajiya Bello to find solace in the grace of long life given to the matriarch, and her strength of character in bringing up her children, grandchildren and great-grand children in fear of God, while promoting strong moral values in her community.
President Buhari believes the legacies of generosity, kindness and virtue that Hajiya Bello lived by, and consistently advocated will always be remembered.
The President urges the family and all citizens of Kogi State to immortalize the matriarch by promoting her values, praying that God will grant her soul peaceful rest.
