 LASG ISSUES TRAFFIC ADVISORY AHEAD OF FANTI CARNIVAL The Lagos State Government has announced traffic diversions and restrictions ahead of the Lagos Fanti Carnival scheduled to hold on Monday, 6th April, 2026, around Tafawa Balewa Square (TBS), Lagos Island. In a bid to ensure a seamless and hitch-free carnival procession, vehicular movement will be restricted along major adjoining roads linking TBS. Affected Routes are; King George V Road (by Mobil Filling Station), Flag House inbound TBS, Force Road inbound TBS, Onikan Roundabout inbound TBS, and WaterBoy Roundabout by Old Defence House. Additionally, all link roads to Moloney Road, such as Military Road (by Old Defence Building), Ajasa Street, Boyle Street, and Hawley Street, will be closed to traffic during the event. SUSPECTED OIL THIEVES IN EFCC CUSTODY.[PHOTOS}.#PRESS RELEASE.

     The Nigerian Army has handed over two suspected oil thieves and a truck to the Uyo zonal office of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC for further investigation and possible prosecution.

The suspects, Patience David, 38 and Iniebong Udo Etim, 32 were arrested by the officers of 2 Brigade Nigerian Army during a routine patrol on March 2, 2020 at about 10.50am in Awa junction, Onna Local Government Area, Akwa Ibom State. .

They were arrested alongside a white truck containing illegally refined Automated Gas Oil, AGO stacked in sacks. The truck had no registration number.

Victor Ikang, Head of the zone’s Extractive Industry Fraud Section, received the suspects and the truck from the Army, on behalf of Garba Dugum, the Uyo zonal head.

The suspects are currently assisting the Commission with vital information and will soon be arraigned in court.More photos below.

 Tinubu announces arrival of 4 US attack helicopters President Bola Tinubu has stated that four attack helicopters will soon arrive in the country from the United States amid rising insecurity. Speaking at a meeting with a delegation of the Christian Association of Nigeria, led by its President, Archbishop Daniel Okoh, at his Lagos residence, on Friday, Dec. 26, Tinubu revealed that the Federal Government had ordered four attack helicopters from the U.S, adding that they will arrive in the country “soon”. He said: “Our orders for four attack helicopters from the United States of America will take some time to arrive. We have approached Turkey for assistance.” The President, however, stated that the delays were affecting the public’s perception of the administration’s commitment to addressing the security challenges.
