 TINUBU-BUHARI PARTNERSHIP AND OPPOSITION'S DESPERATE SEARCH FOR VALIDATION   By Tunde Rahman   The special relationship between President Bola Tinubu and former President Muhammadu Buhari has witnessed many remarkable moments. It has experienced dramatic and exciting times, just as there have been challenging moments. Life changing and sweet memories abound between the two great leaders. Between the two great men, there are recollections of might-have-beens. There are also open testimonies about the gains of the partnership and words of commendation as well as scornful moments.   Nonetheless, the two leaders have trudged on to the admiration of their mutual friends and associates, and bewilderment – I dare say, disappointment – of others who would wish both had long parted ways.   About pleasant times, one important moment readily comes to mind.      Anambra State mourns the passing of Abba kyari
1. The people of Anambra State join other Nigerians to mourn the departure of Malam Abba Kyari, the dedicated and intelligent Chief of Staff to President Muhammadu Buhari from August 27, 2015, until last Friday, April 17, 2020, when he died in a Lagos hospital of complications arising from COVID-19. The departure was unexpected. When it was announced three weeks ago, shortly after he attended the National Economic Council meeting in Abuja, that he was afflicted by the coronavirus, he looked strong enough to survive the illness. One important lesson from this tragic development is that the coronavirus is real and deadly. Therefore, all Nigerians must continue to fight the pandemic together.
2. Malam Abba was a Nigerian nationalist and patriot. He exhibited enormous interest in Federal Government projects in Anambra State. He always inquired from Governor Willie Obiano the progress of work on such major projects as the Zik Mausoleum, the 2nd Niger Bridge and the reconstruction of failed roads in our state. He also displayed interest in the repayment of over N30billion used by the state government to rebuild failed federal roads in the state over the years.
3. The people and government of Anambra State are profoundly saddened by the untimely passage of this pan Nigerian. We commiserate with President Buhari, the Federal Government and the Abba Kyari family over the loss. We pray that the Almighty grant Malam Abba Kyari a place in paradise.

 Actor Baba Ijesha appeals five-year jail sentence for sexual assault Nollywood actor Olanrewaju James, known as Baba Ijesha, has filed an appeal against his conviction for the sexual assault of a minor. He has requested the Court of Appeal, Lagos Division, to overturn the ruling of the Lagos State High Court, which sentenced him to five years in prison. The conviction was handed down by Justice Oluwatoyin Taiwo (retd.) of the Ikeja Domestic Violence and Sexual Offences Court on July 14, 2022 to Baba Ijesha. Baba Ijesha through his counsel Kayode Olabiran on Tuesday, told the appeal court that his client was set up and that he acted according to a script that he was invited to act on by his colleague. “The Appellant was set up. The Appellant is an actor. He acted in a script that he was invited to act by his colleague (PW1), Damilola Adekoya,” he said.
