 Lagos Court Jails NOGASA Chair, Fatuyi Phillips 21 Years  for N43.5m Fraud    Justice Mojisola Dada of the Special Offences Court sitting in Ikeja, Lagos, on Monday, November 18, 2024, convicted and sentenced Fatuyi Yemi Philips, Chairman, Natural Oil and Gas Suppliers Association of Nigeria, NOGASA, to 21 years imprisonment for N43.5m fraud.   The Lagos Zonal Directorate of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, on April 5, 2022, arraigned Philips alongside his firm, Oceanview Oil and Gas Limited, on a two-count charge bordering on obtaining money by false pretence to the tune of N43, 502,000.00   Count one reads: "Fatuyi Yemi Philips and Oceanview Oil and Gas Nigeria Limited, on or about the 28th day of September, 2016 at Lagos, within the jurisdiction of this Honourable Court, with intent to defraud, obtained the aggregate sum of N43, 502,000.00 from Elochukwu Okoye and Elebana Unique Ventures Nigeria Limited on behalf of WAPCIL Nigeria Limited under the false rep

ANSAR-UD-DEEN SOCIETY OF NIGERIA SUPPORTS PRESIDENTIAL TASK FORCE.{PHOTOS}.#PRESS RELEASE.

     The Ansar-ud-Deen Society of Nigeria has joined the ranks of faith-based organisations in the support of the Federal Government in the fight against Coronavirus by donating some food items to the Presidential Task Force.
The items was received on behalf of the Chairman/ Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Boss Mustapha, by the National Coordinator, Sani Aliyu, in Abuja.
The PTF Chairman thanked the Ansar-ud-Deen Society for coming to the aid of the Task Force by making such donation in the aid of the poor and vulnerable in the society.
He observed with gratitude the compliance level of the Society with regard to the ban on mass gathering in the form of worship in the mosques as well as adherence to the social/ physical distancing policy on COVID-19.
He said that faith-based organisations have continued to lend their support to the activities of the PTF noting that such support was what was required to curtail the pandemic urging other organisations to follow the worthy example of the Ansar-ud-Deen Society.The SGF also stated that organisations such as Ansar-ud-Deen Society have continue to provide a platform for a strong united common voice in the struggle to curtail COVID-19 in the country.
Earlier, the Deputy National Chairman, Ansar-ud-Deen Society of Nigeria, Dr. Yusuf Adebayo Ibrahim, commended the efforts of the Federal Government by establishing the Presidential Task Force to combat COVID-19 in Nigeria.
He assured the PTF of its solidarity and support in the efforts aimed at protecting lives and property in the country by working hard to overcome the rampaging Coronavirus.
He pledged to continue to support the government in its activities which are citizen-centered and thus provide platform for advocacy, compliance and feedback for Muslims in Nigeria.
The Food items donated to the PTF included cartons of noodles and some bags of rice worth millions of naira.
