 Dutch referee Rob Dieperink dies weeks after removal from World Cup officiating list Dutch referee Rob Dieperink has died at the age of 38, weeks after FIFA removed him from its list of officials for the World Cup. The Dutch Football Association (KNVB) confirmed his death in a statement, saying it was “shocked and deeply saddened” by the news. His cause of death has not been disclosed. Dieperink was arrested in April by the Metropolitan Police in the United Kingdom following a report of an alleged sexual assault involving a teenage boy in London. A Metropolitan Police spokesperson said officers responded on April 9 to a report of sexual assault at an address in Croydon and arrested a man in his 30s on suspicion of the offence. Police later said that after reviewing available evidence, including CCTV footage and digital devices, the investigation had concluded that “the evidential threshold had not been met” and no further action would be taken. Governor Bello Mohammed (Matawallen Maradun) has condoled his Adamawa State counterpart, Alhaji Ahmadu Fintiri over the loss of his mother.

Governor Matawalle said he received the news of Hajiya Fatima Ahmadu Badami's death with great shock, but said the Will of Allah always suffice.

He described the deceased as an astitute mother who gave his college all the good qualities of a responsible human being and a great leader.

"Indeed, we love our mother very much, but Allah loves her most and has taken her away especially in this very sacred and bountiful month of Ramadan", Governor Matawalle observed.

He called on his colleague to bear the pains of this irreparable loss with great courage and feel more comfortable that she has returned to her Lord as a fulfilled mother. "Only Allah can reward her for her efforts in bringing you up to this level in your life", Governor Matawalle advised.
"On behalf of myself, my family  the Government and the good people of Zamfara State, I convey to you our heartfelt condolence. May Allah reward her with the highest abode in jannatil fil daus", Governor Matawalle prayed.

Hajiya Fatima died this morning in Yola at the age of 68 after a protracted illness.
