 Over 25 million phones stolen in one year – FG The Crime Experience and Security Perception Survey report of the National Bureau of Statistics, a Federal Government agency, shows that Nigeria recorded 25.35 million phone theft cases between May 2023 and April 2024. According to the report, this was the most common type of crime within the period under review. The report read, “The number of crimes experienced by individuals in Nigeria was analysed over a period of time. The results show that theft of phones (25,354,417) was the most common crime experienced by individuals, followed by consumer fraud (12,107,210) and assault (8,453,258). However, hijacking of cars (333,349) was the least crime experienced by individuals within the reference period.” It also noted that most phone theft cases occurred either at home or in a public place, and about 90 per cent of such cases were reported to the police. OGSG LAUNCHES AFRICA'S FIRST COVID-19 MOBILE LABORATORY WITH 400-A-DAY TESTING CAPACITY.{PHOTOS}.#PRESS RELEASE.

    The Ogun State Government has declared its COVID-19 Mobile Laboratory open for operations, as part of strategic efforts to contain the spread of the virus within the State.
The State Governor, Prince Dapo Abiodun was represented at the launching by the Deputy Governor, Engr Noimot Salako-Oyedele at the intended 250-bed hospital which houses the laboratory in Abeokuta, the State Capital.
According to the Deputy Governor, the laboratory which has the capacity to run 400 tests per day is housed in a 40ft container within the hospital premises.
Engr Salako-Oyedele disclosed that the laboratory was powered by main and alternative sources, as solar panels have been installed alongside the container.
The laboratory has been equipped with all necessary biosafety materials, test kits and PPEs that ensure that our health workers are not exposed to the risk of infection.
The State Government expressed appreciation to partners in the private sector, including 54gene and FCMB, as well as Argentil Capital Partners, Arnergy Solar Ltd, Tempohousing Nigeria and Wild Fusion for their work in making this reality for Ogun State.More photos below.
