 Over 25 million phones stolen in one year – FG The Crime Experience and Security Perception Survey report of the National Bureau of Statistics, a Federal Government agency, shows that Nigeria recorded 25.35 million phone theft cases between May 2023 and April 2024. According to the report, this was the most common type of crime within the period under review. The report read, “The number of crimes experienced by individuals in Nigeria was analysed over a period of time. The results show that theft of phones (25,354,417) was the most common crime experienced by individuals, followed by consumer fraud (12,107,210) and assault (8,453,258). However, hijacking of cars (333,349) was the least crime experienced by individuals within the reference period.” It also noted that most phone theft cases occurred either at home or in a public place, and about 90 per cent of such cases were reported to the police. ALL NASARAWA ASSEMBLY MEMBERS TESTS NEGATIVE FOR COVID-19-SPOKESPERSON.{PHOTO}.

     The members of the Nasarawa State House of Assembly have been tested negative for COVID-19, the Chairman, House Committee on Information, Hon Mohammed Adamu Omadefu said.
Adamu- Omadefu made this known while speaking with Nasarawa Mirror in Lafia on Saturday.
Omadefu, who expressed gratitude to God Almighty over their COVID-19 status restated the assembly's commitment to contain the spread of coronavirus in the state.
"At last all members of the Nasarawa State House of Assembly were certified Covid-19 free (Negative).
"This followed the fact that the only member out of the 23 members whom tested positive for COVID-19, Hon Mohammed Bello Isa, member representing Uke/Karshi has been cleared this afternoon as his two tests results of COVID-19 were all negative.
"The Nasarawa State Task Force Committee on COVID-19 has already notified the Hon. member of the development and he has been discharged," he said.
Adamu Omadefu congratulated Alhaji Mohammed Bello Isa of Uke/Karshi Constituency and all the Honourable Members of the Nasarawa State House of Assembly for being tested negative of COVID-19.
The chairman wished all those that have been affected with COVID-19 in the state and the country at large quick recovery.
It would be recalled that some media outfits recently reported that "another member of the state assembly was rushed to isolation centre at Dalhatu Araf specialist Hospital, Lafia for developing COVID-19 symptoms.
It would also be recalled that the Nasarawa State Government while briefing newsmen in Lafia announced that Hon. Suleiman Adamu, member representing Nasarawa Central Constituency died of COVID-19 on April 30th, 2020.
