 I Don’t Wish It On You – Genevieve Nnaji Knocks Trolls Age-shaming Her Veteran Nollywood actress Genevieve Nnaji has responded to social media trolls who made age-shaming comments about her. According to Naija News, a user on X reacted to Genevieve's post on April 3, 2025, stating that she couldn't escape aging and was getting older. The comment read, “You really cannot cheat nature. My fine wine is finally growing old.” In her reply, Genevieve pointed out that things could be worse; she could age significantly and eventually die if she were fortunate. She wrote, “It gets worse, bro. I’ll get so old I’ll die. If I’m lucky.” Another troll referred to her as “mummy,” suggesting she was old, but Genevieve quickly dismissed the comment, saying she wouldn’t wish old age on him.      The Lagos State Government, through its Ministry of Health, has debunked the reports making the rounds suggesting that the Commissioner for Health, Professor Akin Abayomi has tested positive to COVID-19, describing the news as absolute falsehood, fabricated by mischief makers.
A statement signed by the Director of Public Affairs in the Ministry, Mr. Tunbosun Ogunbanwo urged the public to disregard the information in its entirety, saying the authors are out to create unnecessary panic and fear amongst the populace.
Ogunbanwo affirmed that Professor Abayomi is hale, hearty and in good health, as he diligently continues to discharge his responsibilities as the Deputy Incident Commander of the COVID19Lagos Intervention Team constituted to battle the deadly virus in Lagos.
The statement implored citizens to desist from disseminating fake news and implored those who seek and share information to rely only on the official and verified communication channels - @followlasg and @LSMOH for COVID19Lagos news.

 Actor Baba Ijesha appeals five-year jail sentence for sexual assault Nollywood actor Olanrewaju James, known as Baba Ijesha, has filed an appeal against his conviction for the sexual assault of a minor. He has requested the Court of Appeal, Lagos Division, to overturn the ruling of the Lagos State High Court, which sentenced him to five years in prison. The conviction was handed down by Justice Oluwatoyin Taiwo (retd.) of the Ikeja Domestic Violence and Sexual Offences Court on July 14, 2022 to Baba Ijesha. Baba Ijesha through his counsel Kayode Olabiran on Tuesday, told the appeal court that his client was set up and that he acted according to a script that he was invited to act on by his colleague. “The Appellant was set up.
