  Indian billionaire Gautam Adani charged in US for alleged bribery, fraud Gautam Adani, the chair of Indian conglomerate Adani Group and one of the world’s richest people, whose business empire extends from ports and airports to renewable energy,has been indicted in New York over an alleged multibillion-dollar fraud scheme, United States prosecutors have said. The authorities on Wednesday charged Adani and two other executives at Adani Green Energy, his nephew Sagar Adani and Vneet Jaain, with agreeing between 2020 and 2024 to pay more than $250m in bribes to Indian government officials to obtain solar energy supply contracts expected to yield $2bn in profits. Prosecutors said the renewable energy company also raised more than $3bn in loans and bonds during this period based on false and misleading statements.      On 09/05/2020, the Assistant Commissioner of Police incharge of Operations Anambra State Police Command *ACP David Iloyanomon* paid a routine visit to JTF deployed to Omor and Umumbo communities where Communal crisis occured recently.The ACP conveyed the massage of the Commissioner of Police *CP John B.Abang,fdc* to the officers and men and lectured them to be professional in their conduct and maintain high level of discipline. He also boosted their Morale and left them in high spirit.
Consequently,the officer equally addressed the youths and vigilante members of the two communities involved in the recent conflict following a rumour of renewed clash being pedled by mischief makers which was discovered to be false.He admonished the people to maintain peace and adhere to the resolution reached by Ayamelum Leaders of thought to lay down their arms, embrace peace,and allow free passage to their opponents to access their farm lands without hindrance or molestation.
Meanwhile,the Area is relatively calm and normalcy restored.Joint patrol still ongoing in order to avert any further breakdown of law and order in the Area please.
