 Gombe Registers Over 930 Pilgrims for 2025 Hajj, Addresses BTA Concerns The Gombe State Muslim Pilgrims Welfare Board has successfully registered over 930 pilgrims for the 2025 Hajj. Executive Secretary Alhaji Saad Hassan confirmed the milestone, noting that the state has secured quality accommodation in Makkah, ahead of many other states still facing challenges. Hassan also addressed the issue of Basic Travelling Allowance (BTA), explaining that many rural pilgrims were unfamiliar with ATM transactions. In response, Governor Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya intervened, approving cash payments for all Gombe pilgrims' BTA to alleviate difficulties. The airlifting of pilgrims will begin on May 13, 2025, with strict medical screenings ensuring the safety of all participants. Pregnant women and elderly individuals with medical conditions will not be allowed to travel this year.

       Sibling rivalry turns fatal as a 21-year-old man allegedly stabbed his younger brother, Henry, to death over a soft drink.
The incident happened at their home in Johnson Street, Alaba area of Lagos State.Chisom Eze kept a drink in the house before he went out. On getting back home, he realized that his younger brother had taken the drink.
Eze was enraged, he rushed to grab a knife and plunged it into his brotherā€™s neck.
Immediately their sister saw what happened, she ran to the neighbors asking for help but nothing could be done to save Henryā€™s life.
Confirming the incident, the Lagos State Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Bala Elkana said that Eze is currently in the Police custody, and an investigation is ongoing.
