 Over 25 million phones stolen in one year – FG The Crime Experience and Security Perception Survey report of the National Bureau of Statistics, a Federal Government agency, shows that Nigeria recorded 25.35 million phone theft cases between May 2023 and April 2024. According to the report, this was the most common type of crime within the period under review. The report read, “The number of crimes experienced by individuals in Nigeria was analysed over a period of time. The results show that theft of phones (25,354,417) was the most common crime experienced by individuals, followed by consumer fraud (12,107,210) and assault (8,453,258). However, hijacking of cars (333,349) was the least crime experienced by individuals within the reference period.” It also noted that most phone theft cases occurred either at home or in a public place, and about 90 per cent of such cases were reported to the police. MISSING TWIN FOUND DEAD IN CO-TENANT'S VEHICLE IN EKITI WITH HER BODY PEELED OFF.{PHOTO}.


      The body of a missing twin was discovered inside a vehicle owned by a co-tenant in Olujoda area of Ado-Ekiti, Ekiti State capital.
On Friday, the corpse of the 7-year-old twin, Olagoke Morire, who went missing was found inside the car of a co-tenant with her body peeled off.The deceased and her twin sister, Olagoke Mokore, were with their cousin in their apartment before they went out to buy biscuits at around 1:15pm.Once downstairs, Mokore remembered she forgot her money upstairs and so she hurriedly left to pick it. However, when she returned, she couldn’t find her twin sister.Their mother, Kehinde Ajayi, said the twin sister and neighbors raised the alarm and the situation prompted a search which proved abortive until 8pm when her peeled body was found inside a co-tenant’s vehicle that was parked in their compound.“When we woke up in the morning I took care of my children as usual. They are twins. I gave them money to buy biscuits and left them in the house with my cousin.“Suddenly, I received a distress call from one of my neighbors around 3pm that Morire was missing and that they have searched everywhere but they couldn't find her. I quickly left what I was doing and rushed home. We searched everywhere to look for her yet we didn’t find her. We reported the incident to Ologede Police Division and we were told to wait for 24hrs before they could take any action.“It was later around 8pm that someone discovered her corpse inside a vehicle parked in our compound with her body peeled off”, she added.When contacted, the Ekiti State Police Public Relation Officer, Abutu Sunday, confirmed the incident, describing it as unfortunate and an autopsy would be conducted to unravel the cause of the girl’s death.
