 Russia launches massive drone and missile barrage on Ukraine, killing at least 18 civilians and striking Kyiv and multiple cities  Russia carried out a large-scale overnight assault on Ukraine, launching hundreds of drones and dozens of missiles that killed at least 18 civilians and wounded more than 100 others across multiple cities, officials said Tuesday. The strikes hit Kyiv, Dnipro and other regions, with emergency crews working through destroyed residential buildings where some victims were trapped under rubble. In Dnipro, rescuers recovered the bodies of a 3-year-old child and a mother and her 8-year-old son, while officials reported 12 deaths in the city and six in Kyiv. The bombardment stretched from night into daylight, with explosions reported across wide areas of the country.     It would be recalled that on the 5/5/2020 there was a communal Crisis between Umumbo and Omor Communities in Anyamelum LGA of Anambra State .As a result of the crisis,many residents of the area fled their homes to the neighbouring villages for safety.
However,following the restoration of peace in the affected Communities through the efforts of the Anambra State Government,Joint Security Forces,Vigilante groups,traditional rulers,Youth leaders and Ayamelum leaders of thought,the residents have finally returned back to their respective homes and normalcy restored.
Meanwhile,Situation is being monitored closely and further peace initiatives still ongoing to restore permanent peace in the affected areas.
Consequently,the Commissioner of Police *CP John B. Abang,fdc* thanked His Excellency Governor Willie Obiano,the Hon Speaker Anambra State House of Assembly,Honourable Uche Okafor, traditional Rulers and all the Stakeholders whose efforts helped immensely in restoring peace in the area and prevented the crisis from escalating.The CP further enjoined the citizens to eschew violence and always explore the legal avenues towards addressing their grievances in order to avert breakdown of law and order.He further reiterate his commitment towards enhancing safety and security for all Ndi Anambra and residents alike in the State.
