 Nigeria's Defence Minister Summons Service Chiefs Amid Surge in Attacks on Military Bases Nigeria's Minister of Defence, General Christopher Musa (Rtd), has urgently summoned the nation's top military leaders to a high-level meeting at the Ministry of Defence headquarters in Abuja. The session addresses the escalating attacks targeting military installations, particularly in the North East region. The meeting includes key figures such as: - Chief of Defence Staff, General Olufemi Oluyede - Chief of Army Staff, Lt.-Gen. Waidi Shaibu - Chief of Air Staff, Air Marshal Sunday Aneke - Chief of Naval Staff, Vice Admiral Idi Abass - Representatives from the National Intelligence Agency (NIA) The summons comes in response to recent deadly assaults by terrorists on military bases in the North East. SITUATION REPORT FROM UMUMBO AND OMOR COMMUNITIES IN ANYAMELUM LGA OF ANAMBRA STATE.{PHOTOS}.#PRESS RELEASE.

    It would be recalled that on the 5/5/2020 there was a communal Crisis between Umumbo and Omor Communities in Anyamelum LGA of Anambra State .As a result of the crisis,many residents of the area fled their homes to the neighbouring villages for safety.
However,following the restoration of peace in the affected Communities through the efforts of the Anambra State Government,Joint Security Forces,Vigilante groups,traditional rulers,Youth leaders and Ayamelum leaders of thought,the residents have finally returned back to their respective homes and normalcy restored.
Meanwhile,Situation is being monitored closely and further peace initiatives still ongoing to restore permanent peace in the affected areas.
Consequently,the Commissioner of Police *CP John B. Abang,fdc* thanked His Excellency Governor Willie Obiano,the Hon Speaker Anambra State House of Assembly,Honourable Uche Okafor, traditional Rulers and all the Stakeholders whose efforts helped immensely in restoring peace in the area and prevented the crisis from escalating.The CP further enjoined the citizens to eschew violence and always explore the legal avenues towards addressing their grievances in order to avert breakdown of law and order.He further reiterate his commitment towards enhancing safety and security for all Ndi Anambra and residents alike in the State.
