 There was no evidence that he slept with the girl” – Yomi Fabiyi gives update on Baba Ijesha’s case Nollywood actor Yomi Fabiyi has given an update on embattled Yoruba actor Baba Ijesha’s case. Refreshing your memory, Baba Ijesha was arrested and sentenced to 5 years imprisonment for raping a minor, who is the adopted daughter of comedian Princess. Giving an update on the case in a recent interview, he said Baba Ijesha’s appeal process is still ongoing in court. He claimed that there was no evidence that he slept with the hole; hence, the judge didn’t sentence him to life imprisonment. Yomi stated that Princess called Baba Ijesha to shoot a skit, and the girl also made a similar statement in court.     It would be recalled that on the 5/5/2020 there was a communal Crisis between Umumbo and Omor Communities in Anyamelum LGA of Anambra State .As a result of the crisis,many residents of the area fled their homes to the neighbouring villages for safety.
However,following the restoration of peace in the affected Communities through the efforts of the Anambra State Government,Joint Security Forces,Vigilante groups,traditional rulers,Youth leaders and Ayamelum leaders of thought,the residents have finally returned back to their respective homes and normalcy restored.
Meanwhile,Situation is being monitored closely and further peace initiatives still ongoing to restore permanent peace in the affected areas.
Consequently,the Commissioner of Police *CP John B. Abang,fdc* thanked His Excellency Governor Willie Obiano,the Hon Speaker Anambra State House of Assembly,Honourable Uche Okafor, traditional Rulers and all the Stakeholders whose efforts helped immensely in restoring peace in the area and prevented the crisis from escalating.The CP further enjoined the citizens to eschew violence and always explore the legal avenues towards addressing their grievances in order to avert breakdown of law and order.He further reiterate his commitment towards enhancing safety and security for all Ndi Anambra and residents alike in the State.

 Actor Baba Ijesha appeals five-year jail sentence for sexual assault Nollywood actor Olanrewaju James, known as Baba Ijesha, has filed an appeal against his conviction for the sexual assault of a minor. He has requested the Court of Appeal, Lagos Division, to overturn the ruling of the Lagos State High Court, which sentenced him to five years in prison. The conviction was handed down by Justice Oluwatoyin Taiwo (retd.) of the Ikeja Domestic Violence and Sexual Offences Court on July 14, 2022 to Baba Ijesha. Namtira Bwala has threatened to file a lawsuit against the school authorities if her abusers are not punished within 48 hours. In a letter drafted by her lawyers, Deji Adeyanju and Co, Namtira asked the school authorities to immediately investigate and pronounce the stiffest punishments in the student’s rule book on Ms.Maryam Hassan, Miss Faliya, and nine other students who bullied her.
