 A Mother's Day Nightmare in Princeton, Illinois. A 3-year-old boy was struck by gunfire as police burst into a barricaded room, ending a frightening hostage situation. Multiple agencies responded to the Hummingbird Mobile Home Park in Princeton, Illinois, on Sunday, May 10th at 2:42 a.m. The initial call went out as a domestic disturbance but officers discovered much worse.  42-year-old, Anthony Rodriguez, had barricaded himself in a room armed with a knife. Anthony had taken several people as hostages, including Aurora Almanza and her 3-year-old son.  Multiple agencies were on the scene, including the Bureau County Sheriff's Office, Illinois State Police and  the Princeton Police Department.  Authorities attempted to negotiate but ultimately rushed the room when they heard screaming coming from inside.  Officials have reported that officers fired shots as they entered the room.     Today being Tuesday 9/6/2020 the Executive Governor of Anambra State *His Excellency Chief Willie Obiano* gave a cash reward of Two Million Naira (#2,000,000) to Police operatives who foiled the Robbery attack at Regina Caeli Junction along Enugu-Onitsha Expressway,Awka on the 8/6/2020 in order to boost their morale and encourage others to emulate them.
Similarly,the Governor's wife Her Excellency *Chief Mrs Ebelechukwu Obiano*(Osodieme) equally donated Four bags of 50Kg Rice to the police operatives.
The Police operatives comprises of three Inspectors ,Four Sergeants and one Constable attached to Department of operations and MOPOL 29 PMF Awka.
Responding after presenting the cash to the affected officers who were given #250,000 Naira and 25Kg bag of rice each,the Commissioner of Police *CP John B.Abang,fdc* thanked His Excellency Governor Willie Obianor and his amiable wife for motivating the officers.The CP who said the gesture will go a long way in boosting the morale of the officers and encourage them to redouble their efforts.He further assured His Excellency and all "Ndi Anambra" that the Command under his watch will continue to enhance safety and security in the State and deny criminal elements the opportunities to perpetrate their dastardly acts in the State.
