 NEMA COORDINATES SAR OPS AT THE SCENE OF BUILDING COLLAPSE INVOLVING A THREE STOREY BUILDING UNDER CONSTRUCTION AT GUDU AREA OF FCT At about 0945hrs on Saturday 16th May, 2026, the National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) was alerted of a building collapse at Gudu District of FCT.  Critical stakeholders including Federal Fire, FCT Fire, NSCDC, NPF, FRSC and Federal Capital Territory Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) were activated while a response team of NEMA from the Abuja Operations Office led by the Head of Operations Mr Zakari Abubakar  and operatives from AYA Emergency Response Bay (ERAB) were deployed to the scene for quick response and coordination.  A reinforcement team  from NEMA Headquarters led by the Director Search and Response (DSAR) Air Cdre Bature Usman was also on ground to provide necessary backup and supervision. "Being the Minister of Labour, almost Ninety five percent of Igbo youths have been employed, hardly a youth in Nigeria today that will come out to complain of not gainfully employed because President Muhammadu Buhari has put smiles on their faces through his numerous youth empowerment programs.
"If Kanu drops the agitation today, other tribes will join hands in making sure an Igbo person becomes the next President of Nigeria. I tell you, there will be lots of more good projects in the Eastern parts of Nigeria to add to the ones President Muhammadu Buhari has already done.".
