 LAGOS TOURISM TO HOST NIGERIA'S BIGGEST SMEs TRADE FAIR WITH ₦5 BILLION SALES TARGET  •Aregbe reaffirms govt’s commitment to supporting local businesses, entrepreneurs The 2025 Lagos Tourism NBC Trade Fair is set to become Nigeria’s largest trade and commerce gathering, with an anticipated ₦5 billion in sales, over 220 vendors, and an expected 75,000 attendees in three days. The second edition of this partnership between Naija Brand Chick and Lagos State Ministry of Tourism, Arts, and Culture is focused on leveraging entertainment to further drive trade. The fair will take place from Friday, April 11, to Sunday, April 13, at Balmoral Hall, Federal Palace Hotel, Victoria Island, Lagos. Musiliu Smith loses wife | TheCable
     President Muhammadu Buhari prays God to comfort former Inspector General of Police and Chairman, Police Service Commission, Alhaji Musiliu Smith, on the loss of his wife, Ariat.
The President urges the former police boss, his family, relations and friends, to take heart at the passage of a dutiful wife and mother, trusting that she has returned to her Maker, after a worthy life.
“As human beings, it will naturally be painful. But our trust in Almighty Allah is unshaken, and it is from Him we come, and to Him we return. Please be comforted,” President Buhari says.
Mrs Ariat Smith passed away on Friday, aged 69, and has been buried according to Muslim rites.

 Actor Baba Ijesha appeals five-year jail sentence for sexual assault Nollywood actor Olanrewaju James, known as Baba Ijesha, has filed an appeal against his conviction for the sexual assault of a minor. He has requested the Court of Appeal, Lagos Division, to overturn the ruling of the Lagos State High Court, which sentenced him to five years in prison. The conviction was handed down by Justice Oluwatoyin Taiwo (retd.) of the Ikeja Domestic Violence and Sexual Offences Court on July 14, 2022 to Baba Ijesha. Baba Ijesha through his counsel Kayode Olabiran on Tuesday, told the appeal court that his client was set up and that he acted according to a script that he was invited to act on by his colleague. “The Appellant was set up. The Appellant is an actor. He acted in a script that he was invited to act by his colleague (PW1), Damilola Adekoya,” he said.
