 LASG ISSUES TRAFFIC ADVISORY AHEAD OF FANTI CARNIVAL The Lagos State Government has announced traffic diversions and restrictions ahead of the Lagos Fanti Carnival scheduled to hold on Monday, 6th April, 2026, around Tafawa Balewa Square (TBS), Lagos Island. In a bid to ensure a seamless and hitch-free carnival procession, vehicular movement will be restricted along major adjoining roads linking TBS. Affected Routes are; King George V Road (by Mobil Filling Station), Flag House inbound TBS, Force Road inbound TBS, Onikan Roundabout inbound TBS, and WaterBoy Roundabout by Old Defence House. Additionally, all link roads to Moloney Road, such as Military Road (by Old Defence Building), Ajasa Street, Boyle Street, and Hawley Street, will be closed to traffic during the event. The President believes the nonagenarian’s leadership roles in the private and public sectors have been most remarkable and impactful, attracting many recognitions and awards, both within and outside the country, and steadily inspiring confidence in the economy.
As an adviser to many governments, President Buhari affirms that Chief Mbanefo, who served in boardrooms, committees and investigative panels, left an indelible imprint on some of the notable decisions that shaped Nigeria, which include creating strong institutions for good and corporate governance.
As Pro-Chancellor and Chairman of Council of Ahmadu Bello University, Obafemi Awolowo University, and the University of Lagos at different times, the President salutes the diplomat's investment of time and resources in the education system in Nigeria, particularly his advocacy for skills development and entrepreneurship.
