 World’s Youngest Reigning Monarch , King Oyo, Dies at 34 King Oyo Nyimba Kabamba Iguru Rukidi IV, the traditional ruler of Uganda’s Tooro Kingdom who became the world’s youngest reigning monarch after ascending the throne at three, has died at the age of 34. The monarch reportedly died on Thursday, with the Prime Minister of the Tooro Kingdom, Calvin Armstrong Rwomiire Akiiki, announcing his death on Friday. The cause of death was not immediately disclosed. However, Ugandan media reports quoted a government minister as saying that King Oyo had been critically ill and was receiving medical treatment in the United States. Reacting to the development, Akiiki described the monarch’s death as a major loss to the royal family and the people of Tooro. He urged members of the kingdom to remain united and calm while mourning the traditional ruler.     The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, has said that it will not ignore issues of corruption in communities across the country. Usman Imam, Head of the EFCC Zonal office in Port Harcourt made the declaration on Friday June 19, 2020 when he received members of a community-based Non- Governmental Organisation, Pius Dukur Foundation in his office. .

“We do not ignore community cases. When we hear that community funds are being diverted, we pick interest because we are conscious of the difference which such funds could make in the lives of the people at the grassroots”, he said.

He expressed the Commission’s willingness to partner with grassroots- based NGOs in fighting corruption at the local level.One more photo below
