 LASG ISSUES TRAFFIC ADVISORY AHEAD OF FANTI CARNIVAL The Lagos State Government has announced traffic diversions and restrictions ahead of the Lagos Fanti Carnival scheduled to hold on Monday, 6th April, 2026, around Tafawa Balewa Square (TBS), Lagos Island. In a bid to ensure a seamless and hitch-free carnival procession, vehicular movement will be restricted along major adjoining roads linking TBS. Affected Routes are; King George V Road (by Mobil Filling Station), Flag House inbound TBS, Force Road inbound TBS, Onikan Roundabout inbound TBS, and WaterBoy Roundabout by Old Defence House. Additionally, all link roads to Moloney Road, such as Military Road (by Old Defence Building), Ajasa Street, Boyle Street, and Hawley Street, will be closed to traffic during the event.  The Commissioner of Police Anambra State Command *CP John B.Abang,fdc* has today, 29th July, 2020 decorated One hundred and thirteen(113) newly promoted Police Officers from the Inspectorate to ASP cadre at the State Command Headquarters, Awka
The decoration ceremony was done following the recent promotion of 6,601 personnel of the Nigeria Police Force throughout the Federation.
The ceremony was attended by the Command management team and relations of the newly promoted officers.The promotion is in line with IGP's determination towards boosting the morale of Police personnel for effective service delivery. It is also based on merit, seniority and dedication to duty.
In his address, the Commissioner Of Police *CP John B.Abang,fdc* congratulates the beneficiaries on behalf of the Inspector-general of Police *IGP Mohammed Abubakar Adamu,NPM,mni* and urged the officers to reciprocate the gesture done to them by redoubling their efforts towards fighting crimes and exhibiting high professionalism, civility to members of the public and respect for human rights.
Meanwhile, among the beneficiaries are ASP Amaoge Ann Okoye In charge of Confidential office,SHQ Awka,ASP Umoru Ejima attached to Department of Operations SHQ Awka and W/ASP Chinenye Ochiobi attached to Aguata Division
Responding on behalf of the newly promoted officers W/ASP Amaoge Ann Okoye thanked the IGP and the Police Service Commission for finding them worthy of the promotion and also promised to redouble their efforts towards serving the Nation with integrity.

 Tinubu announces arrival of 4 US attack helicopters President Bola Tinubu has stated that four attack helicopters will soon arrive in the country from the United States amid rising insecurity. Speaking at a meeting with a delegation of the Christian Association of Nigeria, led by its President, Archbishop Daniel Okoh, at his Lagos residence, on Friday, Dec. 26, Tinubu revealed that the Federal Government had ordered four attack helicopters from the U.S, adding that they will arrive in the country “soon”. He said: “Our orders for four attack helicopters from the United States of America will take some time to arrive.
