 PRESS RELEASE MINISTER OF INFORMATION LEADS HEADS OF AGENCIES TO BROADCASTERS CONFERENCE IN LAS VEGAS In an effort to strengthen broadcast collaborations and form strategic alliances, Minister of Information and National Orientation Mohammed Idris fnipr, has led a delegation of heads of government agencies to the 2025 National Association of Broadcasters (NAB) Conference and Workshop in Las Vegas, USA. The NAB event, running from April 5 to 9, carries the theme “The Technology, The Trend, The Future” and will cover a range of topics, including Artificial Intelligence (AI), cloud visualization, the creator economy, and sports production and streaming.  The Commissioner of Police Anambra State Command *CP John B.Abang,fdc* has today, 29th July, 2020 decorated One hundred and thirteen(113) newly promoted Police Officers from the Inspectorate to ASP cadre at the State Command Headquarters, Awka
The decoration ceremony was done following the recent promotion of 6,601 personnel of the Nigeria Police Force throughout the Federation.
The ceremony was attended by the Command management team and relations of the newly promoted officers.The promotion is in line with IGP's determination towards boosting the morale of Police personnel for effective service delivery. It is also based on merit, seniority and dedication to duty.
In his address, the Commissioner Of Police *CP John B.Abang,fdc* congratulates the beneficiaries on behalf of the Inspector-general of Police *IGP Mohammed Abubakar Adamu,NPM,mni* and urged the officers to reciprocate the gesture done to them by redoubling their efforts towards fighting crimes and exhibiting high professionalism, civility to members of the public and respect for human rights.
Meanwhile, among the beneficiaries are ASP Amaoge Ann Okoye In charge of Confidential office,SHQ Awka,ASP Umoru Ejima attached to Department of Operations SHQ Awka and W/ASP Chinenye Ochiobi attached to Aguata Division
Responding on behalf of the newly promoted officers W/ASP Amaoge Ann Okoye thanked the IGP and the Police Service Commission for finding them worthy of the promotion and also promised to redouble their efforts towards serving the Nation with integrity.

 Actor Baba Ijesha appeals five-year jail sentence for sexual assault Nollywood actor Olanrewaju James, known as Baba Ijesha, has filed an appeal against his conviction for the sexual assault of a minor. He has requested the Court of Appeal, Lagos Division, to overturn the ruling of the Lagos State High Court, which sentenced him to five years in prison. The conviction was handed down by Justice Oluwatoyin Taiwo (retd.) of the Ikeja Domestic Violence and Sexual Offences Court on July 14, 2022 to Baba Ijesha. Baba Ijesha through his counsel Kayode Olabiran on Tuesday, told the appeal court that his client was set up and that he acted according to a script that he was invited to act on by his colleague. “The Appellant was set up. The Appellant is an actor. He acted in a script that he was invited to act by his colleague (PW1), Damilola Adekoya,” he said.
