 ASUU–ABSU SUSPENDS THREE-WEEK-OLD INDEFINITE STRIKE The Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU), Abia State University Branch, wishes to inform the University community, all stakeholders and the general public that, following the resolution of Congress held today, Friday, 28th August, 2026, the Branch has suspended its three-week-old comprehensive industrial action with immediate effect. The decision of Congress followed a careful assessment of developments since the commencement of the strike and, particularly, the concrete steps taken towards addressing some of the major issues that necessitated the industrial action. Foremost among these is the full implementation of the 2025 FGN–ASUU salary structure, including the Consolidated Academic Tools Allowance (CATA), which has now been reflected in the August 2026 salaries of academic staff of Abia State University. On the 30/6/2020 at about 3:pm a good Samaritan brought to Umuchu Police Station a female child of about 9 years old who simply gave her name as Chinaza Jedeofor believed to have come from Oka village,Uga in Aguata LGA of Anambra State.She is 3 feet tall,dark in complexion and speaks only Igbo language fluently.
The girl could neither find her way back home nor state where she hails from.Instead, she keep on mentioning one Aunty Chioma repeatedly.She is presently in the protective care of the Umuchu Divisional Anti human trafficking unit pending identification of her parent or guardian.
Inview of the foregoing,you are kindly requested to dessiminate this massage through your medium to enable the biological parents or close relatives identify her.
Anyone with useful information about the found child should report at Umuchu Divisional Police Station or contact PPRO Anambra State Police Command through GSM no 08060970639, please.
