 Texas woman charged with medical child abuse for falsifying toddler’s health and pushing unnecessary feeding tube surgeries A Texas woman has been charged with medical child abuse after allegedly falsifying her toddler’s medical history to pressure doctors into performing unnecessary procedures, including feeding tube surgeries, in what authorities are calling a “sickening” case. Kaitlyn Rose Laura, 31, faces charges of injury to a child and aggravated assault with a deadly weapon. Officials said she deliberately misled medical staff about her 3-year-old son’s health to obtain a gastrostomy tube and later a gastrojejunostomy tube, despite no documented medical need. Investigators allege that hospital staff observed the boy eating normally while Laura claimed he refused all food. Covert surveillance confirmed the child was able to eat meals without difficulty, prompting authorities to stop tube feedings. COURT ADJOURNS RETRIAL PROCEEDING AGAINST EX-GOVERNOR ALIYU.{PHOTO}.

     Justice A.B Aliyu of the Federal High Court, Minna, Niger State on Wednesday, July 1, 2020 adjourned hearing till October 13, 2020 on a motion filed by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC for the relisting of the criminal matter between the Federal Republic of Nigeria and former governor of Niger State, Dr. Muazu Babangida Aliyu and Umar Muhammad Nasko, which the court struck out on June 19, 2020. Both men are first and second defendants, respectively in an amended three-count charge of money laundering and breach of trust.

The EFCC served the motion for the relisting of the matter on the defendants through their counsels. Prosecution counsel, G. K Latona reminded the court that the prosecution applied for the motion on June 19, 2020, filed it on June 22, 2020 and served the defendants on June 24, 2020.

 Tinubu announces arrival of 4 US attack helicopters President Bola Tinubu has stated that four attack helicopters will soon arrive in the country from the United States amid rising insecurity. Speaking at a meeting with a delegation of the Christian Association of Nigeria, led by its President, Archbishop Daniel Okoh, at his Lagos residence, on Friday, Dec. 26, Tinubu revealed that the Federal Government had ordered four attack helicopters from the U.S, adding that they will arrive in the country “soon”.
