 PRESS RELEASE:  ARREST OF SUSPECT FOR ABDUCTION AND DEFILEMENT OF A 14-YEAR-OLD The Rivers State Police Command wishes to inform the public of a recent arrest concerning a case of abduction and defilement. On April 2, 2025, at approximately 3:20 am, operatives of the C4I Strike Force, while on a routine patrol along the Casablanca Axis, GRA Phase-2, Port Harcourt, apprehended one Emmanuel Godwin (male, 23 years old) of 25 Chinda Street, Ikwerre Road, Port Harcourt. The suspect was found in the company of a minor, name withheld (female, 14 years old), of 11 Nwogu Martins Street, Chinda, Ikwerre Road, Port Harcourt. Upon interrogation, the suspect confessed to abducting the minor and detaining her in a room where three other individuals also engaged in unlawful acts with her for over a week. POLICE NAB ANOTHER SUSPECT FOR ALLEGEDLY DEFILING A MINOR.{PHOTO}.#PRESS RELEASE.

     On the 13/7/2020 following a tip off, Police operatives attached CPS Awka arrested one Sunday Eyim 'm' aged 31 years of Oruana village Amawbia in Awka South LGA of Anambra State.
Suspect had on the 11/7/2020 allegedly defiled a 4 years old girl in his room.Scene was visited by police detectives and victim taken to the hospital for medical examination where penetration was confirmed..
Meanwhile,the Commissioner of Police *CP John B.Abang,fdc* has directed that the case be transferred to the State Criminal investigation Department,Awka for discreet investigation after which suspect would be charged to court for prosecution.
Consequently,members of the Public particularly parents/guardians are enjoined to be watchful and caution their children against strangers and also encourage them to report any person making sexual advance or harassment on them to enable the parent take a proactive measure before it becomes intractable.
The public should also be security conscious at all times and always report suspicious rape cases in their neighborhood to the nearest Police stations for prompt action.

 Actor Baba Ijesha appeals five-year jail sentence for sexual assault Nollywood actor Olanrewaju James, known as Baba Ijesha, has filed an appeal against his conviction for the sexual assault of a minor. He has requested the Court of Appeal, Lagos Division, to overturn the ruling of the Lagos State High Court, which sentenced him to five years in prison. The conviction was handed down by Justice Oluwatoyin Taiwo (retd.) of the Ikeja Domestic Violence and Sexual Offences Court on July 14, 2022 to Baba Ijesha. Baba Ijesha through his counsel Kayode Olabiran on Tuesday, told the appeal court that his client was set up and that he acted according to a script that he was invited to act on by his colleague. “The Appellant was set up.
