 Nigeria's Defence Minister Summons Service Chiefs Amid Surge in Attacks on Military Bases Nigeria's Minister of Defence, General Christopher Musa (Rtd), has urgently summoned the nation's top military leaders to a high-level meeting at the Ministry of Defence headquarters in Abuja. The session addresses the escalating attacks targeting military installations, particularly in the North East region. The meeting includes key figures such as: - Chief of Defence Staff, General Olufemi Oluyede - Chief of Army Staff, Lt.-Gen. Waidi Shaibu - Chief of Air Staff, Air Marshal Sunday Aneke - Chief of Naval Staff, Vice Admiral Idi Abass - Representatives from the National Intelligence Agency (NIA) The summons comes in response to recent deadly assaults by terrorists on military bases in the North East.      ‪Magu detained after Ayo Salami led committee finished interrogating him yesterday at 10pm. Some of the allegations against him:
1. Discrepancies in recovered funds.
2. Leaking reports to the media before going to Court.
3. Sale of seized assets to cronies, associates and friends.
4. Missing N35 billion.
5. Not providing enough evidences for the extradition of Diezani Alison-Madueke.
6. Ignoring court order to unfreeze a N7 billion judgment in favour of a suspect.
 Though The DSS issued out a press release yesterday that he was not detained.
MAGU, NOT ARRESTED BY DSS
The Department of State Services (DSS) wishes to inform the public that it did not arrest Ibrahim MAGU, Acting Chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) as has been reported by sections of the media. The Service, has since, today, 6th July, 2020, been inundated with enquiries over the alleged arrest.
