OVER 25 MILLION PHONES STOLEN IN ONE YEAR- FG. (PHOTO).

 Over 25 million phones stolen in one year – FG The Crime Experience and Security Perception Survey report of the National Bureau of Statistics, a Federal Government agency, shows that Nigeria recorded 25.35 million phone theft cases between May 2023 and April 2024. According to the report, this was the most common type of crime within the period under review. The report read, “The number of crimes experienced by individuals in Nigeria was analysed over a period of time. The results show that theft of phones (25,354,417) was the most common crime experienced by individuals, followed by consumer fraud (12,107,210) and assault (8,453,258). However, hijacking of cars (333,349) was the least crime experienced by individuals within the reference period.” It also noted that most phone theft cases occurred either at home or in a public place, and about 90 per cent of such cases were reported to the police. A MAN DROWNED IN A POOL, IN A GUEST HOUSE IN ONITSHA AFTER HE DRANK AND JUMPED INTO THE DEEPEST PART OF THE POOL.{PHOTO}.#PRESS RELEASE.

On the 15/8/2020 at about 8:30pm, there was a report at Central Police Station Onitsha that one Izuchukwu Achusim 'm' aged 42 years of NO,35 Guest house street ,fegge went to Lotus Garden hotel in Onitsha with his girl friend to Swim inside the swimming pool.

However,victim who was said to be drunk jumped into the deepest part of the pool and got drowned.The hotel manager and other guests pulled the victim out and rushed him to waterside hospital Onitsha for medical attention but he was later certified death by a medical Doctor on duty.

Scene was visited by Police detectives and corpse photographed and deposited at the hospital mortuary for autopsy.

Meanwhile,case is under investigation to ascertain circumstances surrounding the incident.The Command enjoin the public who lacked swimming skills to always take precautionary measures by using life jackets provided at the swimming pool in order to avert similar ugly incidents please.
