 PRESS RELEASE MINISTER OF INFORMATION LEADS HEADS OF AGENCIES TO BROADCASTERS CONFERENCE IN LAS VEGAS In an effort to strengthen broadcast collaborations and form strategic alliances, Minister of Information and National Orientation Mohammed Idris fnipr, has led a delegation of heads of government agencies to the 2025 National Association of Broadcasters (NAB) Conference and Workshop in Las Vegas, USA. The NAB event, running from April 5 to 9, carries the theme “The Technology, The Trend, The Future” and will cover a range of topics, including Artificial Intelligence (AI), cloud visualization, the creator economy, and sports production and streaming. GOV ORTOM PAYS TRIBUTE TO HUMANITARIAN WORKERS.[PHOTO}#PRESS RELEASE.

      As the world marks this year’s World Humanitarian Day, Benue State Governor, Samuel Ortom describes as selfless and immeasurable, the services rendered by aid workers and health-care providers in the country and other parts of the globe.

The Governor calls on governments at all levels to provide greater protection to persons involved in one form of humanitarian work or the other as this will spur them to do more.

He states that the current battle against COVID-19 has once more exposed health workers and care givers to hazardous conditions leading to the death of many, a situation he says deserves every means of encouragement the affected persons need.

He gives assurance that his administration will continue to evolve policies and actions towards alleviating the plight of people affected by emergencies such as herdsmen attacks, flood and Coronavirus.

Governor Ortom appreciates the people of Benue State for their support and collaboration in surmounting security and economic challenges in the last couple of years.

 Actor Baba Ijesha appeals five-year jail sentence for sexual assault Nollywood actor Olanrewaju James, known as Baba Ijesha, has filed an appeal against his conviction for the sexual assault of a minor. He has requested the Court of Appeal, Lagos Division, to overturn the ruling of the Lagos State High Court, which sentenced him to five years in prison. The conviction was handed down by Justice Oluwatoyin Taiwo (retd.) of the Ikeja Domestic Violence and Sexual Offences Court on July 14, 2022 to Baba Ijesha. Baba Ijesha through his counsel Kayode Olabiran on Tuesday, told the appeal court that his client was set up and that he acted according to a script that he was invited to act on by his colleague. “The Appellant was set up.
