 FRSC, Anambra Govt Strengthen Partnership on Grassroots Road Safety Awareness By Chisom Okpala The Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) and the Anambra State Government have renewed their commitment to strengthening grassroots road safety awareness and reducing road traffic crashes across the state. The commitment was made when the Sector Commander of the FRSC in Anambra, Corps Commander Bridget Asakhauno, paid a courtesy visit to the Commissioner for Local Government and Community Affairs, Barr. Vin Ifeanyi Ezeaka, in his office on Aug. 26. The meeting provided an opportunity for both institutions to explore areas of collaboration, particularly in promoting community based road safety initiatives through local government authorities and grassroots communities. Discussions focused on intensifying public enlightenment on safe driving practices, compliance with traffic regulations, responsible road use and pedestrian safety.      FEMI FANI-KAYODE WRITES:

I met with my advisors till late last night and I wish to say the following. I hereby withdraw the word "stupid" which I used in my encounter with a journalist in Calabar.

I have many friends in the media who I offended by losing my cool and using such words. I hereby express my regrets for doing so.
I do however wish to state categorically that no threat of physical harm was ever made to the journalist in question and neither did I send anyone to threaten him. Anyone that says otherwise is lying and I challenge them to bring the proof.
I would never seek to physically harm a journalist. For the last 30 years I have defended and worked with journalists and fought for the right of freedom of expression.
I am also very close to many in that profession. I would be the last to seek to disparage those that are honorable and noble within its ranks.
I hope that this will assuage the pain and anger of anyone that was hurt or offended by this ugly episode. I have now put this matter behind me and moved on. Now my tour of the South continues. Moving to yet another state today.

Innoson Gives Out Brand New IVM G5 and Salary For Life To The Man Who Prophesied About His Vehicle Manufacturing In 1979.  Last Saturday, July 22nd the Chairman of Innoson Vehicle Manufacturing Company Ltd, Chief Dr Innocent Ifediaso Chukwuma OFR gave out a brand new Innoson IVM G5 to Mr Ikechukwu Osakwe popularly known as Osabros who prophesied to him in 1979 that he would be the first man in Africa to manufacture vehicles and sell to different African countries.  The prophecy was given at the period the then Innocent Chukwuma could not boast of a car, talk less of manufacturing one.
