 24th April 2025 PRESS RELEASE DELTA STATE COMMISSIONER OF POLICE PRESENT LETTERS OF COMMENDATION TO OPERATIVES OF CP-SPECIAL ASSIGNMENT TEAM, AND THE WIDELY CELEBRATED TRAFFIC OFFICER W/CPL NWOKOLO MERCY UCHE Today 24th April 2025, the Commissioner of Police Delta State, to the surprise of senior officers of the command, presented commendation certificates to sixteen (16) officers of the command in recognition of their unwavering dedication, exceptional performance, and outstanding services in the discharge of their duties. Top on the list was ASP Julius Robinson who is the Commander CP-Special Assignment Team of Delta State Command. ASP Julius Robinson and his team were posted and deployed to Ughelli in the month of April 2024 by the Commissioner of Police Delta state with a mandate to bring to a halt the activities of kidnappers and armed robbers in Ughellli,  Warri, Sapele, Oghara and other parts of the state. POLICE BURST A SYNDICATE WHO ALLEGEDLY ABDUCTED AND KILLED A MIDDLE AGED MAN IN OKIJA.{PHOTOS}.#PRESS RELEASE.

     *Recover the decomposed body of victim buried in a shallow grave*

On the 5/9/2020 following intensive manhunt and actionable intelligence, police operatives attached to the Command Special Anti Robbery Squad(SARS) arrested the following syndicate,
(i) Obasi Faith Ezinne 'f' aged 23 years of Mbaitolu Imo State,
(ii) Ntomchukwu Anabaraonye 'm' aged 33 years of Okija and ,
(iii) Abuchi Obinna 'm' aged 26 years of Ihiala.
2. Suspects had on the 30/8/2020 allegedly abducted one Henry Okam 'm' aged 34years of Okija in Ihiala LGA of Anambra State.They also killed the victim with a pomp action gun and subsequently buried him in a shallow grave.
3. Meanwhile,the suspects who voluntarily confessed to the crime, took operatives to a thick forest in Ihiala where the decomposing body of the victim was exhumed and recovered to the mortuary for autopsy after it was certified dead by a medical doctor.
4. Consequently, the pomp action used by the suspects in perpetrating the henious crime including the victim's phones were also recovered in their posession and registered as exhibits.Case under investigation after which the Suspects and their accomplices would be brought to book.
5. The Commissioner of Police *CP John B.Abang,fdc* once again reiterates his clarion call that there is no hiding place for Criminals in Anambra State and that the Command under his watch will continue to fish out and deal decisively with criminal elements in accordance with the law until they repent or relocate from the State.

 Actor Baba Ijesha appeals five-year jail sentence for sexual assault Nollywood actor Olanrewaju James, known as Baba Ijesha, has filed an appeal against his conviction for the sexual assault of a minor. He has requested the Court of Appeal, Lagos Division, to overturn the ruling of the Lagos State High Court, which sentenced him to five years in prison. The conviction was handed down by Justice Oluwatoyin Taiwo (retd.) of the Ikeja Domestic Violence and Sexual Offences Court on July 14, 2022 to Baba Ijesha. Baba Ijesha through his counsel Kayode Olabiran on Tuesday, told the appeal court that his client was set up and that he acted according to a script that he was invited to act on by his colleague. “The Appellant was set up.
