The Fanti Carnival in Lagos originated in the 19th century, brought by Afro-Brazilian returnees (known as the Aguda or Amaro) who settled on Lagos Island after returning from slavery in Brazil. It began in the 1880s, merging Brazilian Samba culture with local Yoruba traditions, often celebrated by Communities like Lafiaji and Campos.   "Today, I was at the Fanti Carnival at Tafawa Balewa Square, Lagos Island and it was a lively showcase of culture, with each group bringing its own colours, choreography and strong sense of identity. It was especially meaningful to see historic communities like Campos, Lafiaji, Okoo-Faji, Okepopo, Olowogbowo, Epetedo, and Isale-Eko come together, making the day even more memorable. From the coordinated parades to the music, dance, and vibrant displays by our young people, as well as the energy of the crowd, it was a rich blend of culture and creativity. ZAMFARA STATE GOV. MATAWALLE CONGRATULATES VICTORIOUS OBASEKI.{PHOTO}.#PRESS RELEASE.

In Zamfara state, Governor Matawalle has rolled out the drum to celebrate the victory of Godwin Obaseki who he warmly refers to, as 'victorious Obaseki!'

Reacting to the victory of Godwin Obaseki in the weekend held gubernatorial election in Edo state, Governor Matawalle of Zamfara state, said that the celebrated performance of Obaseki in Edo state in the last four years, spoke well of him during the victorious campaigns of the past months.

Matawalle said that it is important for state executive governors to be focussed while in office in delivering good governance and dividends of democracy to the people because, at the end of the day, it is such performance that will speak for him during an election.

"I rejoice with you Godwin Obaseki as your people once again give you the opportunity to take command of your state. It has been a long political battle and you have fought a good fight and ended with a good victory. May Allah continue to guide you as you continue to serve your people, delivering to them the dividends of democracy, said Governor Matawalle.

The Zamfara state Governor also seized the opportunity to also welcome Governor Godwin Obaseki of the fold of victorious PDP Governors.
"Gradually, more and more people in different states are getting to realise the commitment of PDP Governors. PDP as a party, has been more focused. And I believe that you joining the PDP and winning under the party's platform, will not be in vain for you and for the people of Edo state. Congratulations my brother for the sweet victory," Governor Matawalle added.

Innoson Gives Out Brand New IVM G5 and Salary For Life To The Man Who Prophesied About His Vehicle Manufacturing In 1979.  Last Saturday, July 22nd the Chairman of Innoson Vehicle Manufacturing Company Ltd, Chief Dr Innocent Ifediaso Chukwuma OFR gave out a brand new Innoson IVM G5 to Mr Ikechukwu Osakwe popularly known as Osabros who prophesied to him in 1979 that he would be the first man in Africa to manufacture vehicles and sell to different African countries.  The prophecy was given at the period the then Innocent Chukwuma could not boast of a car, talk less of manufacturing one.  Tinubu announces arrival of 4 US attack helicopters President Bola Tinubu has stated that four attack helicopters will soon arrive in the country from the United States amid rising insecurity. Speaking at a meeting with a delegation of the Christian Association of Nigeria, led by its President, Archbishop Daniel Okoh, at his Lagos residence, on Friday, Dec. 26, Tinubu revealed that the Federal Government had ordered four attack helicopters from the U.S, adding that they will arrive in the country “soon”. He said: “Our orders for four attack helicopters from the United States of America will take some time to arrive.
