 Russia launches massive drone and missile barrage on Ukraine, killing at least 18 civilians and striking Kyiv and multiple cities  Russia carried out a large-scale overnight assault on Ukraine, launching hundreds of drones and dozens of missiles that killed at least 18 civilians and wounded more than 100 others across multiple cities, officials said Tuesday. The strikes hit Kyiv, Dnipro and other regions, with emergency crews working through destroyed residential buildings where some victims were trapped under rubble. In Dnipro, rescuers recovered the bodies of a 3-year-old child and a mother and her 8-year-old son, while officials reported 12 deaths in the city and six in Kyiv. The bombardment stretched from night into daylight, with explosions reported across wide areas of the country. BENUE: TWO MKAR LECTURERS DIE IN AUTO CRASH .{PHOTO}.

Seven persons yesterday evening lost their lives in a ghastly motor accident at Gbatse community along Ugbema-Adikpo road in Ushongo local government area of Benue state.
Two lecturers from University of Mkar we're among the seven killed in the accident which happened at about 3:pm
According to eye-witness account, a trailer truck ran into a stationary Toyota car with registration number MKD-300-NH thereby crushing seven occupants dead.
Report said driver of the truck purchased a fairly used car and kept it aboard and was about dodging a police check-point when he pinched the on-waiting car killing all the occupants.
It took the police and other spirited individuals over five hours to evacuate the deads being squeezed under the truck.
Chairman of Ushongo local government, Hon. Asawa Joseph had to cut short at a reception in honour of his Guma counterpart and state chairman of ALGON, Hon. Caleb Abba from Makurdi to rush to the scene of the accident.
He directed that bodies of the victims be deposited at Ostra Gum’s hospital at Ushongo town.
A searched on some documents recovered from scene of the accident identified two University of Mkar Lecturers in persons of Mr. Leva Joshua of Mass Communication Department and Moses Tarnongo as victims of the accident.
A Zenith ATM Card found on one of the bodies also identified Adaa I. Blessing as one of the victims.
Details of the accident could be obtained at Police Station in Ushongo town along Ugbema-Adikp road.
