 Ghana orders foreigners to exit gold market by April 30 Ghana has ordered foreigners to exit its gold trading market by the end of the month, a new government body said, as the West African country looks to streamline gold purchases from small-scale miners, increase earnings and reduce smuggling, Reuters reported. Africa's leading gold producer is shifting away from a system in which local and foreign companies with export licenses can buy and export gold from artisanal or small-scale mining. Under the new system, the newly created gold board known as GoldBod is the only entity allowed to buy, sell, assay and export artisanal gold, Monday's statement said, and older licenses have ceased to be valid. Foreigners must leave the local gold trading market by April 30 although they can apply "to buy or take-off gold directly from the GoldBod," the statement said. BENUE: TWO MKAR LECTURERS DIE IN AUTO CRASH .{PHOTO}.

Seven persons yesterday evening lost their lives in a ghastly motor accident at Gbatse community along Ugbema-Adikpo road in Ushongo local government area of Benue state.
Two lecturers from University of Mkar we're among the seven killed in the accident which happened at about 3:pm
According to eye-witness account, a trailer truck ran into a stationary Toyota car with registration number MKD-300-NH thereby crushing seven occupants dead.
Report said driver of the truck purchased a fairly used car and kept it aboard and was about dodging a police check-point when he pinched the on-waiting car killing all the occupants.
It took the police and other spirited individuals over five hours to evacuate the deads being squeezed under the truck.
Chairman of Ushongo local government, Hon. Asawa Joseph had to cut short at a reception in honour of his Guma counterpart and state chairman of ALGON, Hon. Caleb Abba from Makurdi to rush to the scene of the accident.
He directed that bodies of the victims be deposited at Ostra Gum’s hospital at Ushongo town.
A searched on some documents recovered from scene of the accident identified two University of Mkar Lecturers in persons of Mr. Leva Joshua of Mass Communication Department and Moses Tarnongo as victims of the accident.
A Zenith ATM Card found on one of the bodies also identified Adaa I. Blessing as one of the victims.
Details of the accident could be obtained at Police Station in Ushongo town along Ugbema-Adikp road.
