 Dutch referee Rob Dieperink dies weeks after removal from World Cup officiating list Dutch referee Rob Dieperink has died at the age of 38, weeks after FIFA removed him from its list of officials for the World Cup. The Dutch Football Association (KNVB) confirmed his death in a statement, saying it was “shocked and deeply saddened” by the news. His cause of death has not been disclosed. Dieperink was arrested in April by the Metropolitan Police in the United Kingdom following a report of an alleged sexual assault involving a teenage boy in London. A Metropolitan Police spokesperson said officers responded on April 9 to a report of sexual assault at an address in Croydon and arrested a man in his 30s on suspicion of the offence. Police later said that after reviewing available evidence, including CCTV footage and digital devices, the investigation had concluded that “the evidential threshold had not been met” and no further action would be taken. BENUE: TWO MKAR LECTURERS DIE IN AUTO CRASH .{PHOTO}.

Seven persons yesterday evening lost their lives in a ghastly motor accident at Gbatse community along Ugbema-Adikpo road in Ushongo local government area of Benue state.
Two lecturers from University of Mkar we're among the seven killed in the accident which happened at about 3:pm
According to eye-witness account, a trailer truck ran into a stationary Toyota car with registration number MKD-300-NH thereby crushing seven occupants dead.
Report said driver of the truck purchased a fairly used car and kept it aboard and was about dodging a police check-point when he pinched the on-waiting car killing all the occupants.
It took the police and other spirited individuals over five hours to evacuate the deads being squeezed under the truck.
Chairman of Ushongo local government, Hon. Asawa Joseph had to cut short at a reception in honour of his Guma counterpart and state chairman of ALGON, Hon. Caleb Abba from Makurdi to rush to the scene of the accident.
He directed that bodies of the victims be deposited at Ostra Gum’s hospital at Ushongo town.
A searched on some documents recovered from scene of the accident identified two University of Mkar Lecturers in persons of Mr. Leva Joshua of Mass Communication Department and Moses Tarnongo as victims of the accident.
A Zenith ATM Card found on one of the bodies also identified Adaa I. Blessing as one of the victims.
Details of the accident could be obtained at Police Station in Ushongo town along Ugbema-Adikp road.
