 Senator Sunday Karimi has raised concerns over the growing incidence of kidnapping and banditry in Kogi State, describing abductions as a daily occurrence in the state. Karimi made the remarks on Wednesday during plenary while contributing to a motion of urgent public importance sponsored by Senator Abdulfatai Buhari on the recent abduction of schoolchildren and teachers in Ogbomoso. The lawmaker said kidnapping and banditry have become major security challenges threatening the stability of the country, stressing that responsibility for addressing the menace should not rest solely on the Federal Government. According to him, bandits invaded Ayedun Bunu, a community in Kogi West Senatorial District, in the early hours of Monday and abducted 28 residents. STAMPEDE IN TARABA AS RESIDENTS DISCOVER WAREHOUSE HOARDING THOUSANDS OF COVID-19 PALLIATIVES .{PHOTO}.

Residents of Jalingo, Taraba State, have discovered and looted a COVID-19 palliatives warehouse in the state.
This follows a similar trend of discovery and looting in some states across the country.
The looting of COVID-19 warehouse started from Lagos and has extended to states like Oyo, Osun, Plateau, Edo and Kwara.
It was gathered that the residents overpowered security operatives, who watched helplessly as the people made away with different food items.
The looting, which started yesterday evening, continued till 9pm as more people came for their share of the hoarded palliatives.
However, there are reports of a stampede as more people trooped into the warehouse.
About two people are feared dead as the looting went on unhindered.
