  President Bola Tinubu has identified the creative economy as a pivotal element of his administration’s economic diversification agenda, reaffirming his commitment to positioning Nigeria’s creative sector as a driving force for global influence. The President stated this at the launch of the 2024 Abuja International Carnival at Eagle Square, Abuja. President Tinubu, represented by Vice-President Kashim Shettima, said the carnival reaffirms the essence of who Nigerians are—”a people of culture, a people of art, a people of colour, and a people of shared values”. The ongoing protest in the country has led to loss of lives and properties.Many people use this opportunity to do what has been on their mind for so long.People are now diverting their focus from protesting, now they are out destroying properties.
Popular Nollywood actress,Uche Elendu has cried out on social media stating that her shop which was worth over 100 million naira has been looted by Hoodlums.According to her,the sad incident happened on the 21st of October.
She shared the pictures from her empty and vandalized shop on her official Instagram page.She also made it known that the shop was her investment from all her years of hard work and struggle and now it's all gone under one day
She wrote "I was trying to get myself to recover from the heartbreak of innocent lives lost
during the protest , now my hard work and investment is gone..looted by the same people we are fighting for...oh lord strengthen me".

  SSANU, NASU threaten strike over withheld salaries The Joint Action Committee of the Senior Staff Association of Nigerian Universities and the Non-Academic Staff Union of Educational and Associated Institutions have threatened to disrupt industrial peace in universities should the government fail to release the withheld salaries of members. The salaries were seized by the administration of former President Muhammadu Buhari during their strike in 2022. The unions, in a joint letter signed on Friday by the President of SSANU, Muhammed Ibrahim and General Secretary of NASU, Peters Adeyemi, questioned the rationale with which the government released four months withheld salaries to members of the Academic Staff Union of Universities but failed to release the withheld salaries of non-academic staff.
