LASG EMPOWERS PEOPLE LIVING WITH DISABILITIES.{PHOTO}.#PRESS RELEASE.

As part of efforts towards improving the standard of living of Persons Living With Disabilities (PLWD), the Lagos State Government has empowered 10 physically challenged members of the Lagos State Vulcanisers Association with Ubiquitous Boxes (U-Box) and other tools to enhance their productivity and wealth.
Presenting the equipment to the beneficiaries, on Tuesday, at the Lagos State Cooperative College grounds, Agege, the Honourable Commissioner for Commerce, Industry and Cooperatives, Dr. (Mrs) Lola Akande, said the gesture was in line with the State Government's commitment to wealth creation and poverty eradication among its citizens.
She said, “You are among the lucky people selected for this programme, please shun any temptation of selling this equipment as this would defeat the purpose of the programme, thereby altering the wealth creation process”.
Reiterating the State Government’s readiness to impact more lives as well as work with various stakeholders in the State, the Commissioner implored beneficiaries to reciprocate the gesture by creating more job opportunities among Lagosians.

Mrs. Akande also revealed that the State Government had earlier distributed 960 U-Boxes to members of Lagos State Vulcanisers Association and called on well-meaning residents in the State to support the administration of Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu in providing more working tools for People Living With Disabilities in Lagos.
Mr. Dare Dairo, who spoke on behalf of other beneficiaries, thanked the State Government for its inclusive governance, as the gesture would go a long way in improving the lives of the recipients and their families.
